many reasons

1. they are stationed in Armenia, thus Armenia wouldn't be able to attack Azerbaijan directly, and even if they did, Azerbaijan will just wipe out the airbase.

2. Azerbaijan has the most advanced air defense network in the region, 4th gen planes have no chance of entering it.

3. Although Russian planes are called multi-role, their true multi-role capabilities are pretty limited, Su-30SM has very little munition to use against ground targets. Russian fighters are not like Western fighters, they don't have targeting pods or wide variety of laser guided munitions to use against ground elements.

Another reason is that if one crashed or was caught on video, they wouldn't have plausible deniability of their involvement in the conflict.

Those spikes are versatile and very lethal. Turkey should develop one with at least 12km range. Great for plinking at targets and convoys relying only on intel about the enemy position. No outside illumination or guidance needed.

Little analysis. We had two stages of war so far:

1) Heavy Talish/Magadish and Hadrut battles.
2) Fast march along Iranian border with one failed Armenian counter attack.

Now we entered a third stage. I guess main objectives are Lachin and Qirmi Bazar (opens road to Shushi and flanks heavy defence lines around Khojavend) . Contrary to Hadrut and Talish battles now Azeri side is much more cautious. SF are searching for weak points in Armenian defence and then defence positions are softened through air and artillery.

Both are extremely heavy mountain areas. The problem with Lachin front is that Armenians can use artillery and air defence from Armenia itself.

Also contrary to popular belief Lachin is not the only road to Karabakh. There is also another one through Vardenis.

This is a complete historical error. Because the Megri corridor breaks the connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan. As soon as you claim that the link was broken, you claim that the Megri corridor is also Azerbaijani territory.

I would add:

4. Effective use of fighters requires extensive pilot and command center training. I doubt they did it.

5. Su-30 radars although being PESA, are quite weak. I dont think they bought R-77 active seeker missiles which are very expensive and PARH missiles are hard and risky to operate.

As everyone say these Su-30 are nothing but white elephants.
