From what I read “the avionics“ is hardware some sort of, as they mention of supply links.
At any rate, nice to see Turkey enlarging its footprint in the region. I like win-win scenarios.

I think after Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan, now its time TUSAS should open an office in BD. (Given now we have our first Aerospace university) If all of these countries in the future become part of a larger, let's say, a Turkish led Aerospace ecosystem, that would be beneficial for all parties involved.

Considering Mr. Kotil keeps telling how they annually add to their domestic engineer pool and they keep enlarging it only by opening offices, that would be more than a dream but a logical step. I’d love it.

Even before Ottoman times.

Seljuk Empire vs Fatimid Egypt.

Fun fact the Seljuk Empire planned on conquering Egypt before the Byzantines provoked the Seljuk Empire. Seljuks instead took Anatolia rather than Egypt.

Muhammed Ali Pasha is still seen as a hero in Egypt even seen as the founder of Modern day Egypt.

Egypt has always been a rival in the geopolitical arena for the Turks.

TAI General Manager Advisor Dr. Halil Tokel (cooperation with Egypt)

An initial step was taken with the D-8 countries. We proposed 52 projects. One of these was the production project of a passenger aircraft.

Look, do we have valuable engineers in Egypt? Yes.. Is there any in Pakistan? Yes. Is it available in Indonesia? Yes

So, by coordinating and gathering these, we can design and produce the most valuable technological products of civilization for the world.

If we combine the potential and brainpower that exists in our heartland, we can achieve the impossible.

In this context, we signed the protocol today. Within the framework of this protocol, Egypt's aircraft factory will meet with its counterpart institution in Turkiye and joint studies will be carried out among themselves"

I am not sure how smart this is. With all the tension in the Mediterranean Sea, the unpredictability of unfolding events, the situation with Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood, what if something wrong happens again and Turkiye have to choose a side?

I understand that Turkiye needs more friends than enemies but isn't it too early for endeavours like these? I mean just 3-4 years ago there was a real chance of Turkish forces to get into a direct fight with Egyptian forces for Libya. Turkiye just started serious diplomatic relationship with Egypt all over again. Moving aside the internal political situation in Pakistan we still have a long lasting strategic partnership with them and we don't even have to comment Indonesia but Egypt is for sure a strange choice for starting strategic cooperation. I hope the decision maker don't regret this at later stage.

look at how being tied to the european economy and buying american weapons binds us. Best way to keep peace among these states is to bring them into the fold.

tomorrow if we succeed in building a 5th gen fighter, once you sell it to these guys they will no longer look to undermine us. Instead they will look to get on with us.

Or, they buy your critical platform at low numbers and betray you by sharing everything they can with your enemies.

Lets say Egypt is a friendly country but how is it allied to us?

sell them a heavily watered down shit version that doesn't reveal the true specification of the real version.

But you are right, the middle east is a shameless place for the most part. Most people operate in pure short term self interest with no vision for the what comes next.
