This has no affect on geopolitics.

But still we all hold values and principals which we see as valuable regardless if its culture, religion or rules and laws.

If people burnt an lbgt flag in Sweden they would have been arrested for hare speech.

Shouldnt free speech be an open gate instead of it being pick and choose?

In the usa you can get thrown out of your job just for supporting bds or critising Israel.
You can burn LGBT flag in Sweden. It's legal as long as you keep it civil and don't shout slogans like "death to gays" or something. Someone should actually test these freedom laws if they really practice them or if it's only applicable to Quran burning.

The USA and Sweden are not the same in these matters. You could probably be shot dead if you tried to remove an American flag from a pole whereas Swedes wouldn't even give a second look.

For those who are saying that the Quran burning incident is just the work of one man and not the collective opinion of the Swedish state
Sadly, I must disagree! The whole nation known as Sweden looks down on Turkey as a whole!
Sweden must not enter NATO as they will be the second biggest danger after Greece

Best answer to these backward rotten shit for brains is to do absolutely nothing.
Just watch them showing their true colours and backwardness.
We shouldn't stoop to their level and the government should warn any individuals from desecrating the Swedish flag or anything similar.
They will soon get bitten in the ass by the serpents they've been harbouring.
What falls on us is to make our popcorn and sit and watch as they drown in their own excrement.

Still, individual opinion. Dangerously Influential but Not a state policy yet. If Swedish state took such step as this scum bag suggesting, then Turkish foreign policy response on that matter would appropriate.

@tracer care explain why your politicians saying such stuff?

It has nothing to do with the freedom of speech , it's all about power and foreign relation and being a puppy .

And yes , someone did test this freedom in Sweden , look at this

A Christen guy made a request for protection to burn the Torah and the Bible in front of the Israeli embassy , the dude didn't want to burn em but to test this freedom . look at what happen next ( I hope you have the auto translate in twitter ) :

The Israeli ambassador before

The Israeli ambassador after

One day it will happen again and the Quran or Turkish flag or Ataturk picture will be burned in front of the Turkish embassy in Sweden by PKK supporters or whatever. Any request by the embassy to block those protestors will be denied by the Swedish authority .

It says "..the extremist organizers withdrew the request to hold the demonstration in which they planned to burn a Torah scroll."

Pretty sure they didn’t withdraw it because someone said
Please don’t do that it would hurt my feelings
There was definitely something behind going on

Yes, sure. Someone must've pulled some strings. But the tweet doesn't say the state or the police involved with the withdrawal decision. Full translation of the tweet;

"We are happy that following the embassy's activity in front of the Swedish authorities, and joint activity with elements of the local Jewish community - the extremist organizers withdrew the request to hold the demonstration in which they planned to burn a Torah scroll."

There is little to no consistent basis w.r.t holocaust free expression in Europe I have noticed especially....relative to the free expression basis used for everything else.

It occupies a certain special clause....whereas IMO either everyone ought to get that special clause, or none at all.

Israel has taken full advantage of this dissonance to conflate and push matters others simply could not.

Cooperation between turkey and algeria's getting deeper. At this rate a strategic alliance is very possible within a decade at least.

Nah, language and response should be evenly measured and lacking emotion. The dumb reaction of flag burning and protests over a fat-necked 5-chinned oruspu gives these people what they want; Muslims chimping out and an excuse to point fingers at them and proclaim "see! I told you they were backwards/subhuman!"

You know how things work in white Christian nations. They do nothing wrong whilst everything you do is to be condemned and ridiculed.

Let Sweden have all these pkk rats in their country. Work to make them act more and more extreme within her borders until they're a real tangible terror threat to them. Make the pkk their problem. Have them love Swedish women disappearing only to turn up as some slaved breeder in a ypg compound in Syria.

Hundreds of anti-Semitic protesters march in Sweden.50 arrests.

600 people are marching with anti-Semitic slogans, they want to pass in front of the synagogue, but the riot police prevent it. Freedom of expression? Impossible. Anti-Semitism is considered racism in Sweden.

Swedish Jews face anti-Semitism from both the nationalist far right and the far left.

Stopping the nationalist far-right group, the police is also stopping the far-left group coming from the opposite direction. The police's excuse: that the two groups do not meet.

Last October, Sweden Democrat R. Fallenkvist made insulting and offensive posts about Jewish Anne Frank on social media. It was flooded with criticism. Moreover, his party expelled him. The same party accused his remarks of being "insensitive and inappropriate" and promised an investigation.

You can't even swear at Jews in Sweden. What they are doing is not defending freedom. They like the idea of humiliating Muslims and Turks. Shame on us if we are not going to uphold our sacred values as much as Israel!

Erdogan says Turkey may block Sweden's Nato membership bid

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-64446439

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has suggested that Ankara may agree to Finland joining Nato, but not Sweden.

He criticised Sweden's refusal to extradite dozens of people allegedly tied to Kurdish militant groups and other critics of his government.
"If you absolutely want to join Nato, you will return these terrorists to us," said Mr Erdogan.

His comments come days after Turkey suspended talks to accept the two Nordic nations as members.

The move was prompted by a series of controversial protests in Stockholm, including one during which a copy of the Koran was burned.
Swedish officials have condemned the protests, but defended the country's free speech laws.

In response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Sweden and Finland applied to join Nato last year, ending decades of military non-alignment.
Their application must be unanimously approved by all current Nato members, but Turkey and Hungary have failed to ratify their bids.

In his speech, Mr Erdogan suggested Turkey might now "give a different response concerning Finland," adding that "Sweden will be shocked".

"We gave Sweden a list of 120 persons and told them to extradite those terrorists in their country," said Mr Erdogan. "If you don't extradite them, then sorry about that."

Sweden has a larger Kurdish diaspora than Finland, and its talks with Ankara over Nato membership have been heated.

Turkey has called on Sweden to distance itself from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is regarded as a terrorist group by Turkey, the US and the EU.

In response, Sweden approved a constitutional amendment which allows it to create tougher anti-terror laws demanded by Turkey.
Both Sweden and Finland have also lifted bans on the sale of military equipment to Turkey, introduced after Ankara's military intervention in Syria in 2019.

But Turkey has heavily criticised Sweden over recent protests in Stockholm, including one by a Kurdish support group which hung an effigy of Mr Erdogan from a lamp-post.

Earlier this month, Mr Erdogan said Turkish elections had been brought forward by a month to 14 May.

Helsinki's Foreign Minister, Pekka Haavisto, has since suggested the "pressure" of the looming ballot has caused discussions to become "heated" within Turkey and that negotiations should be paused.

The diplomat also stressed his country should join at the same time as Sweden - appearing to backtrack on his earlier suggestion that Finland could be forced to join without its Nordic neighbour.

Swedish authorities stop planned Torah burning

sweden quran
AMMAN — A week after a politician burned the Quranin Stockholm, Swedish authorities stopped a planned burning of the Torah in front of the Israeli embassy, according to Swedish officials.

Israeli ambassador Ziv Nevo Kulman said on Friday that his country and the local Jewish community had prevented the Torah from being burned in front of the Tel Aviv embassy building in coordination with Swedish officials.

‘Spark a debate'According to Jo24, a young Swedish Muslim of Arab origin had applied to the Swedish police to burn a copy of the Torah in front of the Israeli embassy.

The man said that as a Muslim, he knew that the burning of scriptures was not permissible, but he wanted to debate and ensure that all scriptures were treated equally and that freedom of expression was guaranteed to all in Sweden.

A Swedish newspaper reported that the 34-year-old man who applied to burn the Torah in front of the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm also applied to burn a bible in central Stockholm's Sergel's Square.

The man told the newspaper, "burning scriptures is disgusting, but I'm angry, and I'm doing it to spark a debate about it."

‘I represent myself’The paper added that the man stated that he was tired of tax money going to protect Rasmus Baludan, who has repeatedly had demonstrations to burn copies of the Quran.

The young man confirmed that representatives of the Muslim Association at the Stockholm mosque had advised him not to do so, indicating that he would not represent Muslims if he burned down a copy of the Torah.

The man added: "Representatives of an Islamic association contacted me and asked me not to do so. They say it is contrary to Islam and that I do not represent Muslims when I burn a copy of the Torah outside the Israeli embassy.”

“That is okay. I represent myself,” he said, stressing that his work does not target the Jewish minority in Sweden.

Last week, the Swedish government agreed to let Rasmus Baludan, leader of the far-right Danish "hard line" party, burn a copy of the Quran, citing it as "freedom of expression".

Sweden is also kidnapping Muslim children.

Sweden also forced sterilised the Sami People.

I think Turkiye needs to use these cards and show the world of the human rights violations in this Liberal Paradise state.

One by one these Scandanavian states need to be exposed for the frauds they are.
