Fincantieri is competing against OMT? I thought the Iver deal is slotted in our budget already.
no it's against the 30ffm, DCNS , or either DAMEN , it's already reported in "The japan news" article which turn out to become a premium article now .

"Indonesia has also received a proposal from an Italian shipbuilding company and has indicated its intention to decide on a contractor after considering the price and the participation of domestic companies."

Navy's Attach Helicopter will probably operate from Makassar-Class LPDs while the Anti-Sub helos operate from frigates/corvettes, right?

if so, with their current condition/status, I doubt that our LPDs have all facilities needed to effectively accommodate several attack helicopters in real combat situation (enough hangar space, ammunition storage, repair station, dedicated built-in fuel system, etc.)

The Italian can push whatever they want but I extremely doubt they could "nikung" 30FFM considering the political push do seem to came directly from JKW talk with Suga along with Nippon investment.

I believe due to pressing circumstances at the North Natuna Sea, it's no longer about replacing the Van Speijk-class, but rather adding a more numerous & capable platform. It no longer matter whether it is Arrowhead 140, 30FFM, or whatever, as long it is available and battle ready.

I think it's important to note that we should realize that the 30FFM and the European FREMMs are more or less considered 'Destroyers' in terms of size and capability as they can perform both AAW and ASuW.

When you think of a traditional Frigate, you'd pretty much see ships such as the Martadinatas fit better into this role.

However, if the FREMM variant they're talking about is similar to the Egyptian/Morrocan version, then you can consider it somewhat as an up-gunned Martadinata. Which doesn't overlap in capability with the Iver and 30FFM.

up-gunned Martadinata
What?
Double the range, double the endurance, double+ the size, more space in hangar (for Italian version), VLS capable of AD missiles (up to 32), dual CIWS, towed sonar, yet it is just up-gunned sigma 104 which considered corvette (jumbo corvette) in some navies?
from that point of view, Ticonderoga is also up-gunned sigma 104.
If there is any small FREMM version, then it is my bad i don't know it.

IIRC our MEF 2024 requires us to have 150-ish ships. That's the minimum. The ideal posture is 270-ish ships. Still plenty of room to add FREMM :)

The plan had been formed since early 2016, and in 2019 Cakrawala magazine had giving snippet about Table of Organization and roles Penerbal will be taking in near future, that's including acquisition of Attack Helicopters

Quite confused here

So which one is the Navy's target for 2024/MEF? 100 aircraft or 160 aircraft?
