The $30Bn spent so far have resulted in $40BN damage in GCC countries, including the oil / gas installations. It does not include impact on their economy and material destruction and impact on economy in Israel.We're probably gonna see resumption in strikes once 2nd carrier strike group arrives near Iran, I don't see Iran giving up anything.
I doubt the economics work out for us and our allies in this scenario.
As for second aircraft carrier, I call BS on it. A carrier and its F-18s don't project the sustained airpower projection needed. Our land-based assets have been in the area consistently as well as strategic bombers from UK.
I think the pause is worth it as every $ we spend is causing $3 of impact on the countries we are aligned with. They would say 'with a friend like that, who needs an enemy'. So I am glad we are at a pause, as temporary as it seems
