Finally up up upErmaksan/Aselsan Kaan 40mm naval gun with smart ATOM 40mm munition
Finally up up up
Tuzla Class is looking forward to hearing news

Wait which 40mm caliber the gun ?
And which 40mm atom ammunition?

Was 40 mm Smart Ammo developed or yet to be develoiped?Ermaksan/Aselsan Kaan 40mm naval gun with smart ATOM 40mm munition
AFAIK as Naval Gun, MKE producing 76 mm gun and now ERMAKSAN 40mm gunCan someone list how many companies have produced naval guns in Turkey?
I feel that too many companies creating the same weapons makes it a but redundant; competition is good and all but even that has limits
40 mm version of the 35mm ATOM.Finally up up up

Developing would not be a problem since 35mm's smart fuse fits in larger caliber. Was 40 mm Smart Ammo developed or yet to be develoiped?
Yes, it can be. I think those incorporates Aselsan's 40mm TAKS. Thus the TAKS can be ugraded to upload detonation delay to the programmable munition. In addition, they need to provide a munition selection mechanism to switch between programmable airburst and HE - AP munitions.Developing would not be a problem since 35mm's smart fuse fits in larger caliber.

I have another question, the twin 40s of Tuzla class could be upgraded with new smart ammunitions?
Aselsan has presented to-wo 30mm, one 30x113 chain gun another one is 30x173 cannon, the 173 can easily fire airburst ammunition as well if Aselsan works on that.127 mm MKEK
76 mm MKEK
40 mm Ermeksan/Aselsan (most probably for ammunition)
30 mm Aselsan, Canik (unidef) no idea which one is naval
20 mm Turkish Phalanx MKEK (there are some others working on 20 and 25 mm gun within the scope of SSB land gun project)
we also have 35 mm gökdeniz gun not sure but MKEK with oerlikon licence I suppose..
That low-recoil CG seen on Kapgan can be adopted on USVs as well, they don't have much problems with the recoild in fact, and we might even see a USV variant adopting Korhan's turret in Naval configuration with automatized loading.Aselsan has significant experience in stabilized systems and mechanicals, command-control interfaces, automation and communication with other systems, as well as related electronic cards, software and interfaces. It is obvious that they have provided very serious support to both MKE and Ermeksan in this area. In recent years, Aselsan has also reached a very serious point in the development of ammunitions, especially with the ATOM. In my opinion, armaments are the least important step in the indigenization of these systems. However, there have been important developments in recent months, especially in the medium calibers. Both Aselsan and Canik have started to expand their product range in this area, both with new R&Ds and some acquisitions. This may point to the emergence of many new solutions for naval systems in the coming years.

Ermeksan also has a remarkable input in MKE 76mm, thus, i am assured the resulting 40 mm system will be more compact than Saver's 40 mm and also will incorporate an automated munition selection mechanism to switch between HE - AP - AB - Programmable + Proximity fuse etc. Might easily chalenge fast forty with dual and single barrel configurations.127mm MKEK (Naval)
76mm MKEK (Naval)
35mm GDF MKEK licence production (high rate of fire- Korkut/Gokdeniz/Göker)
20mm MKEK CIWS (Naval)
40mm Ermaksan/Aselsan Konya (Naval)
40mm Aselsan-Konya (Grenade Launcher)
35mm Aselsan-Konya (likely MKEK's 35mm replacement with better rate of fire ?)
30mmx173 Aselsan-Konya(Land turret)
30mmx113 Aselsan-Konya (T929 gun)
25mm TrMekatronik (Land and Aerial)
20mm TrMekatronik (T129, T629)

Also both 30x173 and 30x113 from Aselsan Konya might find a use in SMASH-2 (mufahiz) and SMASH-2L. Or if enough budget allocated Aselsan might come up with a more compact Goker - N with 30 x 173.
The 35mm was interesting indeed, i was under assumption that it was provided by MKE and integrated into the gun by Aselsan. Like other ones could have been provided by Canik - Sarsilmaz?
Thanks for the correction bro, Saver seemed a bit fishy in the beginning, but now i got the whole, Ermeksan surely makes the difference.Bro, Saver is a subsidiary of Ermaksan. The 40mm/L70 twin barrel gun that Saver exhibited is actually the same as the Ermaksan/Aselsan produced 40mm gun.

In order to bring the 35mm barrel to the SAHA, they inserted it from the platform used in the trials. They showed this gun on the smell of gunpowder in SAHA and then took it back to trials. I consider This gun is a domestic solution that will be more effective than 35mm gun produced by MKEK under license.
