What is "the average" here? How did you calculate it?

Probably the best measurement for intelligence is your level of education. It has it's flaws but there isn't a better way to calculate something like this for big masses of people.

According to the statistics like 15- 17% of Turks know English (even less people know any other foreign language too)... Of those 17% a huge part is people who are at very basic levels of proficiency. So like 90% of the population has no real access to information, to foreign news sources, to foreign knowledge and know how.

You will tell me what is the percentage of people in Turkey with a Secondary and higher secondary education? What about these with a bachelors degree etc?

This is the statistics from 10 years ago for those between 25 and 34 but let's say that now it is better:

What if you include those over 40-50-60 years old etc? You start to see the picture.

Finishing high school is something pretty average when it comes to education and I am not even talking about the quality of secondary schools where Turkey is behind developed and many developing countries too.

Yes Turkey is below the world average in education and hence in intelligence too... Or at least behind the part of the world that matters.

WTF is happening in that country man? Literally want to jump on a plane and go to Taksim and protest on my own. Like everywhere I look my beautiful country is on the same league as North Korea, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, etc. And then there's a not-so-ignorable minority of people defending this shit; anybody can defend anything, but the way they defend it shows that they have no clue why their arguments are retarded at all, which means they are retarded and have no clue also. I am so fucking angry.

The statistic you shared is from the OECD. It only includes 38 countries and these countries are rather developed countries. (Actually, even Türkiye being in OECD proves that we're not as bad as you think)

I'm pretty confident that Türkiye is above the average in everything you mentioned, considering the world is not just about OECD or developed countries.

Not saying we're the best. It is just factually not correct that we're below the average.

Eh, these are the countries Turkey trade with and compete against the most in most venues. Business, trade, economics, building, sports, anything. Of course Turkey shouldn't be compared to Sub Saharan, Central Asian or Latin American countries. It's a country of 85 million with near 1T GDP. OECD is our league. There's a reason why every other developing country wants to join the group.
