Apparently they are also developing more powerful versionsof Azra and Utku. View attachment 59694

Sefine Shipyard will cooperate with BMC Power for the marine version of the engine of the Altay tank.

Then there will be a marinization study about BATU?

Yes, we will also test BATU in a diveable environment. We will carry this journey forward. We will both push the capabilities of BMC and relate our own needs to it, and from 2024 we will no longer buy engines from abroad. We are preparing to avoid the embargo. We set out on this road at SAHA Expo in October 2022. We are very happy where we are now. Prototypes will be ready to be integrated into the naval platform. As soon as the tests on land are finished, it will begin its work at sea from September. Around December, we will actually start measuring tests at sea. There are tests done on land but no tests at sea yet. It was designed, the engine was made suitable for use on naval platforms.

Mr Akşit: "Where we produce SCB materials, we can also manufacture some missile components that Roketsan needs and cant be purchased from anywhere in the world."

Mr Akşit: "The SCB material we previously made was a 2nd generation material working at 1100-1150 degrees Celsius"

Mr Akşit: "Now we have produced 3rd generation SCB material in Turkiye. We tested single crystal material we developed and single-crystal material we imported/currently used common in aircrafts. We have seen that our material performs 20% to 30% better at operating temperature"

Mr Akşit: "They(State) want us to build a very powerful supercruise turbofan engine in small diameter for TFX. We currently have all kinds of technology and competence to make this engine"

Mr Akşit: "Tf10000 will be a test-bed engine where we will test our special technologies (For TFX engine). In order to keep critical technologies confidental, we use incomplete/inaccurate designs in the mock-up we exhibit at the fairs. If they make the same model, that engine will not work"

Kulçe project continues. There is a 30month project schedule and officially the project is expected to be completed around mid 2024. Within scope of Kulçe project, CMSX-4, UDI-720 and CM-247LC super alloys are being developed. According to open source information, the melting point of CMSX-4 is 1394 celcius, while UDI-720 is at 1371 degrees and Cm247LC is lower than these two.

After Külçe project is completed, the next target will probably be CMSX-10.

When domestic unmanned naval vehicle projects were just beginning to emerge, TEI GM Mahmut Akşit had proposed to make a domestic engine for IDAs from the core of the TS-1400. One of the officials at the meeting where he made the proposal said, "These engines are already available
everywhere, it would be an unnecessary expense to make a local one."

In recent months, we have learned that an embargo has been imposed on Turkey for the engines used in IDAs.

TEI has not started this project, but TÜMOSAN and BMC are working in cooperation with IDA manufacturers to integrate their engines into domestic SİDAs. The first systems to be delivered will be delivered with indigenous engines.

I'm not someone who shares this persons Tweets but there is something I want to touch on. This same sentiment also was shown towards a proposed TS-3000 engine by our officials. Then I’m guessing the thinking was “The US won’t Embargo engines for our helicopter projects”. And now we are dependent on Ukrainian engines which led to drastic design changes of both the T-929 and most likely the T-925.

Yet when Mr. Akşit proposed the TS-3000 engines years ago (2018-19) it was declines by our bright officials. By now we could have had testing come to an end and the engine being prepared for LRIP.

Wasted 4-5 years for what exactly? Nothing. Not only that we STILL need an engine in the those ranges.

I really hope we won’t see the same done to the TF30000 engine.

There are not enough personnel for the TS-3000 engine project. The design requirements of the project also had a projection that pushed the limits too far. Like the USA, we do not have the luxury of developing projects just to gain experience and then killing projects by saying we could not do it. We don't have that many resources or time. It would be naive to think (at least with the resources we have) that we can succeed in any project we undertake.
