Only thing i can find is that Levend is the ottoman version of Levent, but i can't confirm it.
It is correct. Names usually end with "d" instead of "t" in Arabic linguistic culture, which affects Ottoman through the alphabetical culture.

How does the word exist in other Turkic languages? If it is LEVEND, I personally don't mind its use if other Turkic countries adopt it, but if it is solely for the arabization of the Turkish language, then I agree with you.One thing I would like to know why it is LEVEND and not LEVENT !!!
I can understand that MURAD is the acronym of Milli Uçak RADarı. But what is LEVEND?
While "Levent" is both a name and a title for a sailor or military officer during the Ottoman period, the word "levend" generally carries negative connotations such as "idle, unemployed." Furthermore, "levend" is the Persian form of the word "levent."
It doesn’t sit well with the Arabisation of Turkish names either.
As part of IDEF 2025, the Secretariat of Defence Industries and TAİS Shipyards signed a landmark contract for the procurement of four National Coast Guard Ships, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün.
These indigenously built vessels will operate across Türkiye’s exclusive economic zones, coastal waters, and high seas—ensuring the protection of national sovereignty and maritime interests through a broad spectrum of missions.
Enforcement of sovereignty rights
Prevention of illicit maritime activity
Deterrence of threats
Search and rescue operations
Continuous surveillance and patrol duties
Protection of marine resources
Humanitarian aid during natural disasters
Robust operational capabilities under challenging sea states
With the first delivery scheduled within 26 months, this initiative marks a critical step toward enhancing Türkiye’s maritime security and operational deterrence.
Now if we can just do one for AW101 helicopters...At the end end of the day, the Italian are the ones willing to do tech trade.
I think they're doing the tech transfer because the engine for opv aren't as important compared to uav, and usv that can sink the vessels. So in a way it's a good trade off for themNow if we can just do one for AW101 helicopters...

Wrote years ago about this and why it already is not an official program even if its on the side, people then said how it isn't needed and a waste of time and resources. Maybe if they had started when I asked those question we would have something ready in 2-3 years instead of having to wait until the beginning of 2030s.TAI CEO:
He said, "We have also launched our 3,000-horsepower engine project at TEI. Hopefully, in the early 2030s, we will have presented a helicopter (T-925) to users that we can truly call entirely our own in every aspect."

You would think if I, a nobody on an internet forum, have that foresight people who earn six figures and whose job its to think and plan into the future would have the same thoughts, but alas.
You gonna know better then Aksit now? He was the one who pushed for the project to get started 5-7 years ago already and was shut down by an incompenten government. Think I'm gonna go with the guy who is responsible for this country even having any engines to speak but thanks though. You think those companies have enough engineers for that? Do you know how hard it is to develope an state-of-the-art aviation engine from scratch? Besides they all concentrated on TF-35000. And since that project shows its fruits, they can concentrate on other projects now.
