The abilities of the SERHAT Radar, the protector of critical base areas, have been increased

The Mobile Mortar Detection Radar (SERHAT), which protects critical base areas against mortar threats, has been upgraded to SERHAT-DUAL configuration by gaining new capabilities.

According to the information obtained by the AA correspondent, ASELSAN will share its capabilities in communications, air defense, avionics, electro-optics, electronic warfare, radar and unmanned systems with local and foreign visitors at the 16th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2023) to be held in Istanbul on July 25-28.

Within the scope of the fair, the new configuration of SERHAT, in which ASELSAN has increased its capabilities in line with the developing technologies as a result of coordination with the Presidency of Defense Industries, will also be exhibited for the first time.

SERHAT, which has been in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces since 2014 and has proven its success in protecting critical base areas against mortar threats, continues to develop.

The SERHAT Radar, which can calculate the drop-drop locations by detecting and tracking mortar munitions, gains new capabilities in line with the developing needs and is upgraded to the SERHAT-DUAL configuration.

In addition to the existing capabilities, the SERHAT-DUAL Radar, which will have the ability to detect, track and classify artillery, rocket, mini/micro UAV, has also increased the target detection range.

The development work of the SERHAT-DUAL Radar, which has capabilities far beyond its peers, has been completed and the firing test phase has begun. With the system entering the inventory this year, the Turkish Armed Forces will gain the power to protect critical base areas against different types of threats with a single radar.

Meteksan Yakamos-RT dipping sonar.
It is smaller, lighter, and more compact due to being a high-frequency sonar. (High frequency=smaller wavelenght=smaller array)
It is specially developed for small platforms like small patrol boats and USVs.
It won't hinder the mobility of sea platforms even small platforms like USVs.

More importantly, it has 450km detection range against 1 m² targets (and from that you can calculate its detection range against LO targets)

Karat and Toygun specs dropped.

@Afif what are the implications of KARAT being LWIR and TOYGUN being MWIR? Could these two be used together to generate a weapons-grade track without using radar and therefore compromising stealth?
The advantage of LWIR is it can tell you the distance to the target which means Turkish Karat IRST will be able to send the missiles on silent mode without radar

What about new ARDA naval AESA radars?
Finally we will see ARDA AESA Plates instead of rotating radar.
@Yasar Dear any news related ARDA?

With the radar network(other early warning radars)+Passive radars+Awacs this range is much higher.
If you're going to introduce external elements, the radar will have to fare against jamming, decoys like MALD, and lapses in emitting time avoiding anti-radiation munitions.

Question was about its range and the reported range was 500+kms. And I'm going to need some source on that "80kms or lower" claim.
I don't remember which thread but the radar's detection range was calculated against the JSF's alleged RCS. The number didn't take into account the special stealth coating, IIRC.

Of course it will be that way. It would be wrong to evaluate the parameters by looking at the power of only one platform during a war. I just said it.

Retinar AESA Multi-Mission-Radar from Meteksan 👏

Next generation active electronic scanning and MIMO structure,
Providing 90 x 90 degree coverage with a single radar panel,
Hemispherical coverage (90 x 360 degrees) with the use of quad radar panels,
With its extended target set, it can simultaneously detect air and ground targets at long ranges,
Increased tracking performance with high update frequency,
High-performance target classification with low speed sensitivity,
3D (3-D) high-resolution radar imaging capability and
It will add great power to our security units with its features of not being affected by weather conditions due to its operating frequency. Retinar AESA will be able to detect and track not only mini/micro UAVs (drones) but also Kamikaze UAVs and Tactical UAVs.

Wouldn't it make more sense to use the onboard MURAD AESA to do EW?
