The abilities of the SERHAT Radar, the protector of critical base areas, have been increased
The Mobile Mortar Detection Radar (SERHAT), which protects critical base areas against mortar threats, has been upgraded to SERHAT-DUAL configuration by gaining new capabilities.
According to the information obtained by the AA correspondent, ASELSAN will share its capabilities in communications, air defense, avionics, electro-optics, electronic warfare, radar and unmanned systems with local and foreign visitors at the 16th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2023) to be held in Istanbul on July 25-28.
Within the scope of the fair, the new configuration of SERHAT, in which ASELSAN has increased its capabilities in line with the developing technologies as a result of coordination with the Presidency of Defense Industries, will also be exhibited for the first time.
SERHAT, which has been in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces since 2014 and has proven its success in protecting critical base areas against mortar threats, continues to develop.
The SERHAT Radar, which can calculate the drop-drop locations by detecting and tracking mortar munitions, gains new capabilities in line with the developing needs and is upgraded to the SERHAT-DUAL configuration.
In addition to the existing capabilities, the SERHAT-DUAL Radar, which will have the ability to detect, track and classify artillery, rocket, mini/micro UAV, has also increased the target detection range.
The development work of the SERHAT-DUAL Radar, which has capabilities far beyond its peers, has been completed and the firing test phase has begun. With the system entering the inventory this year, the Turkish Armed Forces will gain the power to protect critical base areas against different types of threats with a single radar.
