Orpheus engine is 6th generation and will probably have everything that the TFX needs given that it provides power at the level required by TFX. If RR introduced this engine quickly with the intention of offering it to TFX then technically it should be acceptable. Unless it comes with unacceptable political baggage it can be used by TFX. This can give TEI the time needed to design an intermediate power level engine like the one needed by Hürjet.

Interestingly I find Morpheus very similar to the TF6000 engine apart from its shaft mounted alternator.

Interesting video about the Orpheus engine project of RR regarding application to Tempest and TFX.
There is a part where it is mentioned about what I Demir said with respect to MMU engine, that the Turkish side is ready to take the business further.
As RR has proven that they can produce engines in short times, if we choose to go ahead with them we may even have engines for the first flight .

This engine’s two prototypes were manufactured from scratch in less than 18 months. If this engine is meant to be for a 6th generation plane and they are offering this to us for our MMU, then I don’t know what we are waiting for.
AFAIK Orpheus size similar to F405 or smaller.

Even though it has scalable design it is still an small engine family.

Here is the quote from rolls royce official page,

(A world-leading, small engine family pioneered to progress future innovative technology developments for future combat air systems.

FOUNDED ON THE PRINCIPLES OF CREATING A FAMILY OF AFFORDABLE, TWIN-SPOOL SMALL ENGINES, Orpheus will provide pioneering capability solutions for a broad range of future Defence markets by utilising common engine architectures and technologies that can be rapidly scaled, adapted and tailored for multiple applications)

It is definitely not tempset's engine.

And also, iirc TEI CEO mentioned Rolls-Royce engine for MMU will be based on pearl15

It is an small to meduim engine with modular design meant for UAVS or small aircrafts.

Tempest engine will be based on Oprheus, think of it as a scaled version of Oprheus

But, That's not what official page says. And the design is different

And this one tempset's engine

Both are taken from rolls royce official pages.

It is a well known fact that, as Tempest’s power plant, a variable cycle turbofan engine option is being considered.

There is no published technical data on Orpheus engine. Being a totally modular and scalable engine, it is produced as a starting point of a family of engines for many different end uses. The engine of Tempest is to be produced from Orpheus using it as a template and starting point. Same can be said for the prospective MMU engine being offered.

If Indian members could give TLDR of this TFX youtube video that would be greatly appreciated. I really would live to learn about Indians reaction to TFX assemble.

I think he is referring to the sidebays. More than enough space to put some missiles in there. I've seen it myself.
I'm not talking about the missile compartment in the air vents. You cant see side bays on bulkhead.

Let's not get overexcited boys... The photos and developments we saw this week are good but we are still very, very far away from the final target we must reach to say that Turkey is SUCCESSFULL in the end.

We are still at 1/10th of the length of the road that will for sure be made extra bumpy and hard by our "allies" and "well-wishers"... So let's hope and pray for all the best.

The design of the joint UK-Japan turbofan engine to power Tempest/F-X is going to be based on the IHI XF9 and RR XG240. XG240 is a separate design from Orpheus.

Not according to the video I have shared!
Is what we have today as a prototype of TFX on the production line same as what we had been served up until then?
Even this prototype may change a bit.
Heck! We are using F110s in our prototype. Serial production will have a totally different engine.
So it is quite logical to deduce that the engine of Tempest is going to be a variation of a variable cycle turbofan developed from Orpheus.

personally, rolls royce just giving up its latest 6th gen engine tech to Turkey seems very unlikely to me.

A good chart about the engines. Japans' help would be perfect.

Btw when we look at PW's journey from F100 to F135 can we say that GE's F110 is better than PW's F100 so it has more potential to give even more power than F135? Maybe we can just scale it and boom?

None. I can imagine that companies involved in TFX are planning to outsource some of the components to Pakistan with the sole purpose of lowering the costs and fasten certain manufacturing lines.

I believe that some people are misunderstanding this as a full blown partnership between Turkey and Pakistan which it is not.
Even that wont happen, imagine US is outsoursing F-22 parts, thats would be something similar.
