I'm beginning to think people are only capable of single run processes and unable to factor in different variables.

In plain old english, "Idi.ots". There has to be a effing limit on how many times people take a MOU for a sales deal/contract. Goes to show the average IQ of Turk has dropped well below average ever since AKP came.

Spitfire is voicing for caution and that is quite normal.

People here don't pay attention to two things.
1. This MoU is the only one for a 5th-gen fighter, which Indonesia has signed (correct me if i am wrong).
2. If KAAN and its turkish engine enter serial production (so no problems from turkish side) and Indonesia refuses to order those Jets (actual numbers are not written in stone), then Indonesia probably knows very well that in this case, they won't be able to participate in any future projects and won't be able to buy strategic platforms as well as weapons from Türkiye for a long time.

Following the agreement with Indonesia, could it contribute to the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with other countries for KAAN in the near future?

I think the second point is the wrong mindset for a nation like Turkiye. Indonesia showing interest towards the KAAN is good for us, even if in the end they don't buy it. We have some ways to go before we can be considered reliable for fighter jets, until then we should be flexible and considerate. Personally i take this move from Indonesia as a goodwill gesture.

Right now the move from indonesia is good optics for Turkiye and her industry. We need more nations who believe in some kind of "religious" brotherhood with us to make that move towards us.

In normal conditions i would agree with you, but before this MoU, there were many talks and visits between those two countries (probably related to KAAN). In this case, if there won't be problems from turkish side, imo Türkiye will see it as "backstabbing".

Other countries will probably wait for the prototype of TF35000.

Indonesia is a friendly nation to Turkiye and truth be told probably will become a close ally as time moves forward. The Turkish establishment should always look at the bigger picture concerning these things.

But from a personal perspective if this plane succeeds it will have many buyers. Few options exist for this type of fighter jet and even fewer options exist that don't come with all the political conditions and baggage you get from buying western. Westerners use their weapon sales as influencing factors and in many cases against the interests of the nations who brought them.

4.5th gen KFX is an alternative to the 4.5th gen needs of Indonesia. It is not a competitor against Kaan. 5th gen KFX, KFX block 3, or whatever the name is, is a backup plan for KAAN. The main target of Indonesia for their 5th generation fighter needs is Kaan. but every smart nation, unlike us, reduces the risks associated with defense acquisition.

TBF the F16 Deal stalling is more on us than the americans. If we wanted the deal would be finalized tomorrow.
True! US sources like pentagon and LM are a bit disappointed that we are dragging our feet regarding the f16 programme. May be we are too hopeful about returning back to f35 project. US sources say that they have gone out of their way and got the 23 billion dollar f16 and V70 upgrade programme through the approval system. But only for the Turks to cancel most of it and slowing down the production of 40 F16 planes.

@alfonsvlora , you should investigate in detail before blaming a member unjustly in an ad hominem manner, which is against forum rules too.

Also below LM article is interesting about the f16 partnership with Türkiye.

You are too late.
Bro, you have few things wrong in the way you look at things.
You don’t read the content in its entirety. But you are more interested in finding mistakes in what people post.
If you read the content of the whole post in detail, you would have realised that the bottom article is very relevant to the above part in it’s context.
You need to get your act together and concentrate on your posts rather than focusing on finding errors in others’.
This is my last warning to you.

TUSAS CEO Mehmet Demiroglu:
I can say that KAAN's stealth level will be at the same level as F35 or better. F35 RCS (Radar Cross Section) value, 0.001 m² or the size of a golf ball.

Source please.

I mean RCS of F-22 is lower than RCS of F-35 and KAAN looks more like F-22, so it makes sense.

According to USAF officials, F-35 is more stealthy than F-22. It has been posted in the forum before in details.

After Indonesia, two more Gulf countries are interested in KAAN

✈️ TUSAS (@TUSAS_TR) General Manager Mehmet Demiroglu (@dr_mdemiroglu):

"The President of Indonesia had expressed his wish to join KAAN during his visit to Turkey. Last month, we paid a visit to Indonesia with our president Prof. Haluk Görgün. Certain decisions were taken there, and as a result of those decisions, Indodefence was asked to prepare a draft agreement. We are now working on the details. Here, we have embarked on a journey to deliver 48 of our KAANs to Indonesia with our own engine.

This is a long journey, and we still have a long way to go, but we are very happy and very joyful. Because our own fifth generation platform will hopefully be delivered to the air forces of a friendly and allied country within the scope of this project. We will continue to work with our friends. Considering that there are 48 of them and 12 optional ones, the number can increase to 60. This is one of the biggest deals in the history of the Republic. Perhaps we can say that it is the biggest one so far. From this point of view, it is a great success for both our country and TAI.

We cannot name the country for now because it is early, but at least 2 of the countries from the Gulf region, which are also heard in the public, are interested in KAAN. Our work with one of them is very advanced. Hopefully, we are waiting to hear good news from them within this year, and we are also working on that, I can say that much. We are also working on a contract for the Turkish Air Force, hopefully at the next defense industry executive committee."
