Feel like KAAN is something you'd want to keep native unless you had better tech and specs coming out that made 3rd nations knowing the ins and outs of your jet a moot point?

Plus who knows how the next traitors in government will roadblock Turkish military development and technological independence. Surprised we got this far with diet-Iranian leadership the last 20 years.

Ukraine is also interested ?
Ukraine and Kazaktsan maybe interested but should we be selling them as they are in choke-hold of Russia. However things can change in a decade, so there is some small likelihood but I wouldn't consider it a given just now.

Once in production and deliveries start the issue of safeguarding Kaan technology will need to be addressed. We know F35 had some stipulations to protect its technology. So Kaan should make some stipulations too; like probably personnel to deal with Kaan must be carefully screened and other similar precautions. I would give Kaan some self awareness that will help monitor what is happening to it and report to monitors.

As strategic an asset as Kaan is, think like this, we still have F16 and F4. These are planes others have and know everything about. And are now outdated. F35 is also a plane others have and know a lot about, but if we had access to it we wouldn't have too many worries about the defense of our skies for most cases. So like, since we had no worries relying on such planes til yesterday, is others having access to Kaan going to be such a big worry now?

When we get Kaan it will be a massive upgrade, selling it to several others won't be that bad, countries around us already have access to Rafale, Eurofighter, F15 etc, which are superior to unupgraded F16. if they buy Kaan from us it creates some level of dependency on us as a bonus. And Kaan will likely be better for having sold more. They could eventually buy J35, Su57 or F35, would that be better?

FCAS will die. Germany and Spain will leave the program, and France will continue FCAS alone. Germany wants %50-50 partnership while France wants Germany to be a sidekick. I won't be surprised if Spain gets Kaan after Hurjet. GCAP will also see major delays. The US will offer Japan F-55 and F-47.

Even if we put aside the issue of spying between the two countries, are you in a position to know how Indonesian politicians perceive the KF-X/IF-X program?
Furthermore, it is extremely offensive to blame South Korea for the sinking of your 40-year-old 209-class submarine in 2021, which underwent an overhaul in 2012.
I even saw news reports that the submarine had not been submerged since 2018 and that the accident occurred after it was submerged in 2021.
If South Korea was involved in that accident, there should be more credible evidence to support that claim. At the very least, an official investigation report should be presented. Otherwise, it would be an insult to the crew members of your country who are still resting at the bottom of the sea.
what happen in indo defence show clear sign regarding indo procurement weapon from SoKor, what ever reason behind that..

don't forgot about 3 chang bo go class.. not old as that germany made, but its also cant submerge

Our goal is to finish the first prototype in the first quarter of next year and to start flight tests,” says TAI chief executive Mehmet Demiroglu. That aircraft will be followed by a second prototype due to get airborne in mid-2026, and then a third following early in 2027.

“We have promised a very challenging timeline for our air force. We are still shooting for 2028… ish,” he says, with the exact date to be driven by factors also including the airframer’s supply chain – issues there already have seen it slip its schedule for the first prototype’s debut sortie beyond the end of this year.

“That is the challenging part, but we are still maintaining that [delivery] target, so that we don’t relax,” he notes.

Indonesia also recently emerged as a second buyer for the Kaan, with the nation wanting to acquire up to 48 jets.

“I am delighted,” Demiroglu says of Jakarta’s backing. While the exact strength of the commitment had been the subject of some uncertainty, he clarifies: “It is an order. There are some technical requirements that we need to finalise, but from a decision-making point of view it is done.

“The details are basically decided in general – the number of aircraft, technology transfer, the offset requirement – but we are discussing more details and trying to finalise it within a couple of months.”

“What we have done in the past tells [buyers] that they can trust Turkish Aerospace, and the fact that the Turkish air force has already decided to buy this aircraft for their future use tells everybody that they can trust this aircraft as well,” he says. “Whatever you are asking, this will deliver.”

He is also optimistic of signing additional customers. “If not this year, then early next year we will hear something as big as Indonesia… from a nearby country,” he indicates. KAI TAI has previously also promoted the Kaan to Malaysia.

Imo it is better to have those supply chain problems now instead of after the start of serial production. Because doesn't having them now minimize the risk of having them later?

Having supply chain issues now doesn't mean that we won't also have them later on. We also don't know what supply chain issues apart from the titanium parts. If we are still unable to get the parts and equipment necessary from Russia for example, issues continue. Supply is lacking for all over the world, but others seem to be trucking ahead with LM, Dassault, Eurofighter group and China increasing number of aircraft built in a year steadily. Even Airbus and Boeing are going in increased output.
