For those who are thinking Pakistan is going to give up critical KAAN techs to China, I humbly urge you to consider the fact that, in international strategic defence cooperation that's not how things really works.

(Also, There is a misconception that Pak has increasingly became a vessel state of PRC. But anybody with decent understanding of subcontinent's politics or Pak state would knows that is not what Pakistan's actual problem is.)

Anyway, it doesn't matter if Pakistan assemble or manufacture the KAAN's fuselage. Like F-35, KAAN is an in-and-out software defined platform.

Italy and Japan both has F-35's local production line, yet they cannot even control a bolt without US permission.

There is a saying that USA doesn't sell the F-35, it only sell sorties.
You can expect Türkiye would assert similar control of KAAN when exporting aboard.

The main issue is, for now Pak has absolutely zero money. (Like literally) So i don't know what their contributions would be in the near future.
(Maybe their engineers would work for free?)

Like you said, they don’t even have the necessary fund to support the project. So what will they bring to the table ?

Let's just hope that the possible deal with Pakistan is rock solid and gives more than few tens of pages to Pakistan's relationship with China re our IP rights; and we have guarantees from the US to not kill the entire thing. Too early to say anything at this stage.

We know exactly how this will play out. Welcome Altay Version 2.0.

Pakistan has nothing to add to this project other than embargoes.

Adding a country that is being embargoed by the same country you are getting your engines from is peak Government move.

Congrats they once again managed to sabotage a strategic project.

Not only that Pakistan right now is surviving thanks to China if anyone here thinks they won’t give up classified information or technology to the Chinese once pressured to do so are delusional.

Nobody here should act surprised when information about Kaan suddenly leaks out on Chinese forums. Cause that is where this is heading.

With this they most likely also kill Hürjet before it even can enter inventory for the next 10 years. Bravo!

1000 yıllık devlet aklı!

"Hope", We shouldn't come down to these words when the matter is defense industry or moreover a project vital to our airforce and its position among the regional rivals in 2030s.

Don’t worry Chef mid 2030s we will get our „New Kaan+ Ultra“ once our own engines are ready.

Imagine adding a embargoed and right now unstable country living off Chinese loans onto one if not your most strategic project for pr points. A country that if we are honest will add nothing to advance this project to a higher tier.

A country the US has on its „fuck with a lot“ list and will most likely embargo your whole project once they sign on.

Our neighbors will let out a big sigh of relief once they hear of this.

no words, seriously.

What valuable information will China obtain about Kaan I wonder; perhaps its dimensions will be revealed.

@boredaf Look what is happening. We’re giving one of our most critical project to China.
I can't fucking believe we really are this stupid. How on earth can they not see what's going to happen 10 years down the line? Pakistan is a failing state with enemies around it and only one they can turn to is China which is nothing but a slave owner if you ever get into their debt.

And even if we pretend that they won't let China dissect Kaan if they ask, including Pakistan is like covering yourself in gold paint, wrapping flashing lightbulbs all over and holding a sing that says "SANCTION ME!". Ffs, we are ruled by morons.
