TurAF has set a minimum requirement of 25.000 lbf dry thrust per engine. Total maximum dry thrust should not be less than 50.000 lbf.Am I right, the engine will has a dry thrust of 50.000 Ibf?
What can be the final kN (wet thrust)?TurAF has set a minimum requirement of 25.000 lbf dry thrust per engine. Total maximum dry thrust should not be less than 50.000 lbf.
As they are trying to make a copy of the f119 i would say 155 KN or 35000 lbs of thrust with max afterburnerWhat can be the final kN (wet thrust)?
I think it will be 26.000 lbf around dry thrust (115 kN) and 36.000 lbf wet thrust (160 kN).What can be the final kN (wet thrust)?
More than 36.000 lbf (160 kN)What can be the final kN (wet thrust)?
On what? TF-35.000?The funniest one is Turks have been working on that for 2 decades.
Why would they do that...35.000lbf is enough for KAANMore than 36.000 lbf (160 kN)
The TF35000 code is because the TurAF’s minimum requirement for maximum thrust is 35.000 lbf (155 kN), just like the PW-F119.
Theoretical maximum is around 38.000–38.500 lbf (171 kN), similarly, dry thrust will also be approximately 10% above (27.000-28.000 lbf, 120-125 kN) the minimum requirements.
TEI has so far achieved around 10% more power than targeted in the turboshaft engines, but a turbofan is a completely different realm.
An engine that will make it in time for Block-3 in 2032, delivered with minimum thrust requirements and enabling supercruise capability at mach 1.4 + multispectral LO (IR, RF, acoustic), would already be a major success.
The President of the SSB, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, recently announced that the engine will provide 36,000 lbf thrust. In other words, the fact that the engine will provide 36,000 lbf thrust is not actually an estimate, it is official information. If we make an estimate based on the P&W F119 engine, the dry thrust of an engine with a wet thrust of 36,000 lbf should be at least 26,000 lbf.Why would they do that...35.000lbf is enough for KAAN
More power...you sacrificed to engine's life and maintainence cost
Whats the thrust - weight ratio you need for wet thrust without afterburner? Why would they do that...35.000lbf is enough for KAAN
More power...you sacrificed to engine's life and maintainence cost
We dont know KAAN's gross weight... wet trust/gross weight rate is 0.8 for F-22, 0.7 for EFWhats the thrust - weight ratio you need for wet thrust without afterburner?
Are you sure?We dont know KAAN's gross weight... wet trust/gross weight rate is 0.8 for F-22, 0.7 for EF
if KAAN's gross weight is 60.000lb....24.000lbf (0.8) or 21.000lbf (0.7) will be enough
We know KAAN's supercruise requirement lower than F-22..
He is just throwing out a buzzword, just as other defence executives love doing, just like Temel Kotil used to do. Also lays the groundwork for their excuse when there is a delay in the project and they miss their own deadline or move the timetable back again, like they did this summer. "We could make a 5th gen engine right now, but, we want it to be a 6th gen and that is why it won't be ready when we said it would be!"Haluk Görgün, about engine controversies:
“The development program of our indigenous engine, which is essential for enabling KAAN to achieve advanced 6th-generation capabilities, is progressing in line with the planned schedule. At this stage, no foreign engine alternatives are being considered.”
This is the second time the engine has been linked to the 6th generation.
Main 6th-generation engine capabilities are: CMC, ACE, higher electricity generation..?
If successful, the most advanced engine that can be produced, rather than the most urgent and just achieving minimum requirements possible, will be delivered in the most urgent way.
To be fair, Kaan will even hardly hit to 5th gen with F110 design parameters (which we all are aware of, btw) and that’s ok as long as it would have served intended interim role as a 4+ gen until TF35000 would have matured.Bro this time i don't agree with you. He is just telling what we already know. It was already mentioned that KAAN will evolve to 6th gen. Also we already know that KAAN needs at least TF35000 for that purpose. Can KAAN become 6th gen with F110, no it can't.
Well, the TS1400 has first been ignited in 2018! Not yet in serial production!!! It is planned in 2026, probably later. So how come a much more complex motor which has not yet been ignited, will go in serie in in less then 7 years? I'd rather say in the period 2035-2040. And 6th gen version probably five years later. So what Görgün is doing just enticing people with the false promise of 6th gen motor to justify all the wrong project management steps. These people including Ismail Demir and other responsibles should be held accountable. We will live another episode of Altay, welcome to Altay 2.0 fiasco!KAAN will be fully ready in 2032
KAAN will be fully ready in 2032 with features that we can truly call 5th generation, powered by our own engine. The temporarily used F-110 engine can also be considered 5th generation. So, we're not too far off, but for it to be a complete 5th generation aircraft, we'll wait for our own engine. Once it enters service with our own engine, we'll call it a 5th generation, or perhaps even 5.5 generation KAAN.
By that time, we will have already acquired many features of the 6th generation. If you ask what the newly defined 6th generation is — well, everyone may define it differently. Our plan is to develop 6th generation features as quickly as possible using the platforms we already have, and apply them to KAAN.
So, the 6th generation project is not something that will start after KAAN reaches a certain point — it’s a set of parallel ongoing efforts. We’ll all be seeing these developments unfold in the coming months and years.
