Turkiye can build good aircrafts but we are still laking in engines unfortunately. If we had started earlier we would not be in that position. Apart from our MALE UAV’s, all our other aircrafts are using foreign engines.

Indeed, Turkiye is going through a painful period of engine dependency. Things are changing. With the current project, Turkiye could overcome this dependency completely in the next 10 years

And what that got to do with Turkey?

Also, i believe that you are wrong on your assumption. USA most certainly have high degree of autonomous drone control together with real-time control of their drones via Starlink.

Them being not open about this is understandable since it would kill their sale of expensive fighters and give the enemy (China) to prepare for it.
We haven't seen a built US autonomous fighter, and militarization of Starlink will bring doom to Starlink.

Mr Temel Kotil thinks it is 5 years, but who cares.

American military development is very slow now, compare to cold war era

2023 vs 2003 only a few new system succussfully developed by US

Anka-3 first flight delay is due to faulty engine. Unknown whether it will repair or replaced altogether. Don’t expect a flight soon.

Source: Yusuf Akbaba

This is the second time for Tusas if true.

Hurjet was also suffered from a faulty engine at first.

Baykar is currently conducting studies regarding the development of hydraulic actuators. The aircraft currently houses electronic actuators (similar ones can be spotted on the TB2, TB3 & Akıncı platforms) which might limit the aircraft's structural integrity during high g manoeuvres and/or during supersonic speeds. With hydraulic actuators, we can see these devices integrated onto the fuselage as we expected multiple years prior. We might also observe a reduction on the amount of control surfaces on the wings and the vertical stabilizers.

The integration of the KARAT IRST is also planned for Kızılelma. Its location will presumably be near the upper side of the forward fuselage & just at the aft of the radome.

TB3 is also set to conduct her maiden flight soon, with numerous tests currently ongoing. The folding wing mechanism is planned to be automated in the future. It is manually operated for the time being.

It's a must have for both Kızılelma and Anka-3, anything else would compromise their stealth. I wonder if they could get hydraulic actuators integrated before starting batch production, kinda doubt it though.

From what I understand it is pretty early in development. Don't know the details tho.

It is possible that first batch will be ED (Early delivery units) delivered with ukranian engine, no IRST or Targeting pod and electric actuator. Those electric actuators are the reason why control surfaces are divided up too.

I have told that before they are working on those in plane actuators but i didn't even know electric actuators was a thing. They are working those since development of first KE prototype has begun. Hope it catches up to the first deliveries.

How many countries have ever flown a flying wing plane?
Question was why is it important for Anka-3 to fly before TB-3, not flying wings or not. Why does it matter which one flies first if Anka-3 is a success? And TB-3 as well.

There is something I don't understand. Doesn't TAI already have hydraulic actuator technology? Why don't they pay and buy these parts from TAI? Wouldn't things be a lot faster this way?

Pride. They do not get along with each other. There is an unspoken enmity in the middle.
This means that the country's resources and energy are not used in an optimized way.I wish this was happening only with UAVs or Air vehicles. It's same with the Sage and Roketsan

Though I see the problem with them not cooperating on simple things, I do not believe it is sub-optimal in the bigger picture. let TAI and Baykar be in fierce competition with each other, pushing both to develop world-class products to conquer the world markets.

I thinks it's good, to create a competition on who can make a better actuator or any part in general

But in that case who decide which part to be used , SSB or TSK ?

The Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force may finally introduce the Turkish-made unmanned aerial vehicle Bayraktar, which is praised as the "hero" of the war in Ukraine. How will the Ground Self-Defense Force operate this? In fact, Bayraktar's "rivals" will also be compared this time.

At a media briefing on the FY2022 defense budget draft held on December 22, 2022, the Ministry of Defense prefaced the announcement that the Ground Self-Defense Force's multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle was "just an example." However, the name of Bayraktar TB2 was mentioned.

A model of the Bayraktar TB2 on display at the Baikal Technologies booth at Indu Defense 2022 (photographed by Osamu Takeuchi).

In November 2022, I had the opportunity to hear from Baikal Technologies staff at the defense equipment exhibition “Indu Defense 2022” held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. The staff who responded carefully chose their words, but acknowledged that the Ministry of Defense and the Ground Self-Defense Force have shown great interest in the Bayraktar TB2.
