Joe Biden assured of further support for Ukraine
Biden said the US condemns Russia's fraudulent attempt to annex sovereign Ukrainian territory.
US President Joe Biden said that the States will continue to support Ukraine's efforts to regain control over the territories seized by Russia
According to him, the US condemns Russia's fraudulent attempt to annex sovereign Ukrainian territory.
"Russia violates international law, flouts the Charter of the United Nations, and demonstrates its disdain for peaceful peoples everywhere. Make no mistake: these actions lack legitimacy. The United States will always respect Ukraine's internationally recognized borders. We will continue to support Ukraine's efforts to regain control over its territory by strengthening its position militarily and diplomatically, including through additional $1.1 billion in security assistance that the United States announced this week," Biden said.
He noted that in response to the annexation attempts, the United States, along with allies and partners, is today announcing new sanctions.
"These sanctions will incur costs for individuals and entities - inside and outside of Russia - that provide political or economic support for illegal attempts to change the status of the territory of Ukraine. We will rally the international community to condemn these steps and hold Russia accountable," the US President stressed.
According to him, the States will continue to supply Ukraine with the equipment it needs for self-defense.
"I look forward to Congress signing legislation that will provide an additional $12 billion to support Ukraine," Biden said.
He called on the world to continue to support the people of Ukraine.
Recall that on Friday, September 30, the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, signed agreements on the "accession" of Ukrainian regions to the Russian Federation.
And President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky today announced the signing of an application for an accelerated entry into NATO.
