Do not follow the likes of Iran or NorKo, relying too much on missiles. Like it or not traditional airpower that counts. We're talking about long range strike fighters, VLO jets, AWACS, tankers...

I was called 2nd Connie back then when I float the idea that we should start lobbying for J-35 sale. Like it or not, the U.S will never sell us their top of the line weaponry, and certainly not F-35s in the face of Oz and SG objection. So we should find 5th gen jet out there whatever the cost because stealth aircraft is a basic necessity in modern war.

Hell I don't think the U.S would sell us D3 AMRAAM's.

No production so far, beside why risking put eggs in one basket? Once it disabled the loss can cost a huge toll.

I think we should have what the Japanese had during WW2, Kido Butai AKA Elite Carrier Strike Group. They had 4 Carriers, and in the Battle of Midway, went up against 3 American carriers (which is also under one command).

Koarmada RI AKA the "Kostrad of TNI AL", shall be designed in that manner, with 2 Carriers, KRI Majapahit and KRI Sriwijaya. Other regular 3 Fleets hold certain territory, but Armada RI can be committed at will and has the most firepower.

It works, but deemed impractical.
