Yeah your right but it just sounds nice when you cherry pick numbers and can say that exports are rising.
Your voter base will be happy for another day until the next electricity bill flys in.
But who care about exchange rate, its not like you earn your money in dollar right?
well, some companies may choose to pay salary in USD/Euro. I remember that was the case in the 90's as my cousins salary were guarenteed under a USD/Euro denomination.

That practice may come back if it isn't there already.

They would pay in USD if Türkish labor market were saturated. While your economy struggling with unemployement, Turkish alumnis are ready to work unofficially or for Minumum wages.

İ think just 5 percentage of white collars who are high qualified managers can get salary in USD.

But foreign companies may pay salary in foreign currency if they want talented people.

🤷 The foreign companies may .
İf our labour market mainly consisted of high qualified white collars, The foreigner could pay but who would invest in Türkiye with current political problems. One man reign the country, who would invest in such a country?

Producing weapons is good but if you expect Defence industry will make you rich you are wrong.

In order to be rich country, export of your country much more than defence industry.

For instance PRC almost 10 trillion USD economy look how much weapons they can export.

Chinese Total exports 2.6 trillion USD.

İf you could sell Bayraktars to 50 countries how much you could expand your total export?

It will contribute to the economy but it will not make you have a superpower economy. Regardlesd turkey needs to produce as much to fill the trade deficit, while exporting their products. If im not mistaken turkey had a previous goal to export 25 billion usd yearly of weapons.

It seem like you can add Marocko and Turkmenistan to the list of current countries with Bayraktar TB2 in the inventory (2021).

First batch of TB2 were delivered to Marocko last week.

Oryx have also expressed that he has evidence of Turkmenistan have the TB2 and that he will present Turkmenistan TV footage soon. So we will probably see an article from him within 1-2 weeks. He might even confirm it here as well since he is a member of this forum.

Edit:
Oryx confirmation with TV footage (day after my post)

We need to conquer more marqets. Look that list, we cant even sell weapons to brothers and neighbours like Jordan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Indonesia, etc. We are not in their top 3 exporters, but tiny little shitty Netherlands is.

That requires strong foreign policy and consistency, not possible with current goverment.
Product quality is not the only deciding factor, you want to have support when needed kinda like when you buy a new car and you want support if something breaks down.
What if erdogan goverment suddenly decides to becone hostile. Not to mention sanctions from 3rd party suppliers.
Its this insecure behavior of this goverment that cost billions in opportunities from many countries and will continue to cost as long as this goverment continues.

I agree
The current policies are useless
Turkey should just ignore Europe tbh and concentrate more on the Asian markets. The future is in Asia and not in Europe
While the potential of EU-Turkey trade is greater; many EU parliament members refused to provide a FTA for decades. Erdo should just ignorr Europe ffs; these hypocrites will be useless in the future

I agree. Foreign policy is about state gains and interests, but this government takes everything personal.

We should make a very big U-turn in foreign policy except some red lines:

- Dont give up Blue Homeland doctrine
- Don't give up North Cyprus
- Dont't give up North Syria
- Don't give up West Libya
- Don't give up Nagorno Karabach
- Don't give up Qatari militairy base

Hell, we got to much red lines.

NK is not our issue, we provide support.
Qatar is not our issue, we're there because we're asked and it's good.

The rest are our red lines.

Sure and the West will certainly give you the thumbs up, right?
You literally summed up why Erdogan is in problems with literally all the West
He doesnt wanna give Karabagh
He doesnt wanna give Western libya
He doesnt wanna give Syria
He doesnt wanna give Qatari bases
He doesnt wanna give up blue homeland doctrine

If you truly wanna rewind your relationship with the West, you need to expect from the new aeministration to give back most of these red lines; otherwise, expect that the turkish foreign policy under the new management wont change and they will continue what Erdo started, period! (Though I doubt that tbh as we are already seeing some signs of them giving up some of these red lines)
