Gül was a tw** who couldn't even speak proper Turkish.
He should have said that Russia has its own drone(Kronshstadt Orion) which would have shut her up.Complete lack of geopolitical nuance or diplomacy. She's cornering him to say we won't sell weapons to Russia, which indirectly harms the Turkish Russian relationship, which benefits America and the EU. Turkey doesnt exist to benefit America or Russia, she exists to benefit her own people and then her friends.
These people shouldn't do these sorts of interviews. I get you make some nice drones, but please we need people who understand state diplomacy.
This is coming from someone who has no love for Russia, who doesn't support 1% of what they are doing and someone who wishes we arm Ukraine more.
What he should have said was something along the lines of we have a great relationship with Ukraine and we also have a great relationship with Russia. In this specific circumstance and he should highlight this is his personal opinion not state opinion, since he does not speak for the state, that it would be wrong to support Russia here. Like wise if Russia was ever attacked or invaded unjustly that Turkey would look to support Russia, that would couldnt look away when our friends are in trouble. But he would like to see peace come soon between these two nations that Turkey is both friends with.

First mistake is going on CNN to begin with. Rarely anything good (for your people/country) comes out of going on CNN for contentious subject stuff...as CNN will goad you into something you really shouldn't be commenting on....so they (or buddies) can then launder that for their agenda.
If for whatever reason you do go on CNN or US/Western media in general (for something involving a war) you should not volunteer anything past the precise answer to the question.
Answer number one: No we have not supplied Russia with this technology.
Answer number two: It is not in our interests presently to supply Russia.
You have to make things as stale, precise, short and boring as possible.
The whole "answer not what was asked of you, but what you wish were asked of you" (as Rob McNamara put it) is for a seasoned official representative of the country.
CNN deliberately avoids bringing in such people for a reason (for their short air soundbite segments).....so (non-govt, non-official) guests should be wary of that always.
