On top Tayfun, i would also like to hear about VL/GL-MinBo and VL/GL-KuzgunSS projects.

They said it reached 90 km, which is under karman line (100km), i.e under outer space. That means tayfun is a quasi ballistic missile having maneuvering capability.
Nope, NOTAM was up to 90 km, however beyond an altitude the restriction is useless so we will never know.

I have a question ❓

Today It was said: typhoon reached 50km altitude and its range 560km??

If the SRBM hits 560km range, it should reach min 150km altitude!!!

View attachment 49095

So Typhoon's rocket engine worked during the all course!! The missile didn't free fall. Direct, linear and low fly path was followed by the missile.

So what should we assume?
First: Typhoon has longer range than today's test. The missile could fly longer time

Second : today typhoon reached very high terminal Speed.
I don't know who has provided the altitude data but NOTAM was issued up to 90km altutude. 300K feet might be like, speculating, high enough that they don't need to restrict further or they are unable to because it is not within airspace?.

More range than typhoon means the use of unconventional warheads. Otherwise, it does not make sense in terms of cost and precision to launch a mrbm to the target.
If you can hit a Carrier, why not conventional warhead.

Since Tayfun is derived from Bora, it is logical to assume that they are of the same ilk. And they follow similar trajectories. Bora is a Quasi-Ballistic missile. It’s trajectory is suppressed. So should Tayfun’s be.
Keeping trajectories suppressed improves the missile’s survivability. It also makes it easier to manoeuvre in mid course.
Thaad is most effective after 60km altitude (it has minimum engagement altitude of 40km but as the name suggests, High Altitude Defence is it’s specialty. Patriots are only good to around 30k. So Quasi ballistic missiles flying at 50K altitude are difficult to intercept at mid course.
If the missile has a maximum range of say 800 km, then it needs to be fired at an angle of 45degrees to achieve that maximum range. If that was the case with Tayfun, then it was fired at a more acute angle to reach a little higher altitude to shorten the range And manage 561km instead.
As I have tried to explain above the terminal speed is governed by:
weight of missile (directly proportional),
drag coefficient and diameter of missile (indirectly proportional)

The law of terminal speed in atmosphere restricts any object’s speed.

Speed = √2mg/pr2C
where
m is mass of missile in kg
g is gravitational acceleration (9.8m/s2)
p is drag coefficient
r2 is diameter of missile squared
C is air density constant.

Is it this manoeuvre? Up and down changing altitude?

I am so happy about this new missile. But I fear it was a big mistake to reveal it. We should have produced hundreds of it and destroy all greek infrastructure if they attacked first. Now greeks will get THAAD from US, iron dome from Israel, and all sorts of ballistic missiles. Basically for free. The way out for us now to improve both our strike abilities by more advanced missiles (and many of them) and also through protection against BMs. Now France will never cooperate with us for SAMP-T and we need at least 5 to 6 years to acquire that ability. Eventually there will come a point when it will be too costly for US and Europe to arm greece so they will give up. But with this test we have made it more difficult for us. On the other hand US would have seen it anyhow I guess.
Not really
Shit was escalating quickly you know
Both in Libya and between Greece-Turkey
In Libya, the new agreement between Turkey and Tripoli-based govt is being heavily criticized by Bashaga and both of Egypt and Greece; with the rumors of Turkey getting ready to start to excavate for oil and gas in the shared Libyan-Turkish EEZ, there will be a high risk of SABOTAGE from such nations.
this was clearly a warning to both Egypt and Greece! If you try to act smart, then all of Greece and most of Egypt's strategic bases and cities like Alexandria are targets to be butchered...... period!

so now some might ask why Egypt? The answer here is in GAS and politics like corrupt relations between the Egyptian military and the French axis of power; i-e, France and Greece!
Lets talk about Gas! The current Egyptian govt is heavily profiting from the current Ukrainian war in such that they can sell their expensive LNG gas to Europe without any significant competitors. This has specially been proven by the fact that OPEC+ will cut its production in November. Egypt doesnt want any new competitors and the new Turkey's deal with Libya is a pain in the ass for Egypt

Egypt's foreign policy in the Med Sea is simply to let Greece and Turkey fight each other out while Egypt cozyingly sell its LNG to Europe at inflated prices to aid its economy. The problem with such deal is that Turkey and Greece arent equal; Turkey is growing by the day, its capabilities are growing both militarily and economically especially during such times where Egypt's market share in the international market have been partially devoured by Turkey during the last year (at the cost of inflation ofcourse). This is one of the main reasons why Egypt tends to support Greece heavily these days and that is to somehow provide a stable status quo between the conflicting parties. However with the video of the SRBMs Tayfun, it was a clear message as well as a warning for Both Egypt and Greece to start acting like Good boys or the damage being dealt will be too great for them to bear. That is why Greek's social media is panicking like crazy rn!

Bullshit we saw how easy it was for Barak 8 systems to intercept a İskander in Karabakh
Thanks to Green Pine radar which costs 100 million :) Not every country could have such high-end technology.
Ukrainian air defense was desperate against İskanders.Gratefully their stocks ended or low.

The Typhoon SRBM will make our neighbors spend more money from budget.

I am proud of Typhoon maneuvering SRBM:)

The leading Greek newspaper Kathimerini carried TAYFUN to its headline today:

"Double threat from Ankara! A ballistic missile test was added to the Turkish threats. TAYFUN traveled about 560 km before finding its target on the coast of Sinop. Kalın also threatened Greece!

The successful test of a short-range surface-to-surface ballistic missile called "Tayfun" at the shooting range in the Black Sea is the latest example of the weapon systems completed and put into use by the Turkish Armed Forces by the Turkish "Roketsan" industry.

Such a missile is a clear threat to the infrastructure of the Greek Armed Forces, since almost our entire country is within this range. "Tayfun" is the 3rd missile system in the series produced by Roketsan. In recent years, the medium-range "Bora" (280 km) has already been used in northern Syria.

While the Turks were conducting a ballistic missile test, the Turkish Presidency spokesman Kalin demanded the withdrawal of all military forces in the Eastern Aegean islands, insisting on threats against Greece, arguing that otherwise there would be consequences.

Mr. Kalın imposes the complete disarmament of the Greek islands as a precondition for de-escalation. "The source of tension is the Greek side, which should take measures to reduce tension. Let's start with the withdrawal of weapons, equipment, troops, etc.," he said.

It isn’t totally rubbish!
1. Almost all missiles are intercept-able.
2. Don’t believe everything Russians claim about Iskander. Yes it is 90cm diameter 4 ton missile. But it’s hypersonic speed hype is a bit far fetched.
3. Barak 8 is a very modern and specially designed missile, with dual pulse motor, as an anti ballistic missile , especially against tactical ballistic missiles with a range of 500km. It has TVC high degree of manoeuvrability at interception stage with the help of an Aesa radar.
4. In Karabakh Iskander missiles Armenia had were export versions. Armenians did not really know fully how to operate them.
5. Ukraine did not have much of an answer to Iskander missiles.
6. In any conflict the trick lies in how well you can suppress and/or take out of equation your enemy’s AD radar systems.
Tayfun will be a formidable missile and very hard to intercept. It will push the Greeks to spend billions on new AD systems.

There is one thing we have all overlooked.
Tayfun flew for 458 seconds and hit the surface 561km away. But it actually went up ~50km and down ~50 km as well. That is if the top altitude was 50 km.
That means it flew 561km + ~100km = 661km in 458 seconds. That makes average speed as 4.3 Mach.
That means that this missile was travelling at speeds well in to hypersonic range for a good portion of it’s flight.

Of course now It is time to see a new artillery rocket system over 200 km range. Dont worry Greeks. Skyros wont face Bora or Tayfun. We will hit it with them:)
