Westerners sneering at us with their threats and insults about F-35 is just tired at this point. It's the same energy with EU applicaton. EU one is waaay worse though because we genuinely don't care about that one anymore. After we find our interim solution this F-35 situation will not be that big of a deal anymore, either. It's a great plane, but not worth our independence and honor. Also it's a shackle. We can't defend against greeks with it, we can't use it against PKK. It would just fly on national fetivals so F that.

Personally, I find people who talk endlesly about greek air superiority to be alarmist. We don't build a world class layered air defense system for nothing. Who says it's going to be F-35 vs F-16? What is this a kindergarten karate class? If shit hits the fan, Turkish Armed Forces have the necessary -and very diversified- tools and training to keep those peons away.

One must remember, they got real cocky about 6 months ago. Their generals and strategists were talking about what basically is a decapitation strike. Then Tayfun missile got leaked. I'm sure we got some more stuff hidden.

Recently, there was news that ehpod entered the inventory. Now, with the eh pod and sniper or aselpod of our f16 planes attached, what would happen if the opposite plane was f35, what would happen if it was a rafale?

In fact, very soon, when the ehsim fake target is used, if the Greeks fired a meteor missile at our planes, what percentage of them would hit one of our planes?

A release and towing system for RF decoys is also being developed. In other words, all of the electronic countermeasure systems that will be included in the MMU and in other jets updated with national avionics packages will include the possibility of use in different configurations if needed, in addition to the expendability that has recently become increasingly important.


What is more important is the test infrastructure of the Turkish Air Force during the development of these systems. The 401st Squadron's world-famous reputation is not the point I want to make, but the point I want to draw attention to is that whether the potential adversary force has NATO integrated air forces or Soviet-extended Russian systems, there are facilities to test and evaluate existing EA/D and countermeasure systems against both schools. And the capabilities being acquired are not imported, but indigenously designed and architected.

Trump was always pro-Turkey. He greenlighted our Syrian operations and powned the YPG in the White House by saying that "the Kurds didnt help America during WW II, why would we help them?".

He also supported Turkey at live television during a press conference where he outlashed Mike Pompeo and said that the US lost thousands of jobs because of the F35/S400 row and that Turkey was right because the US didnt sell them Patriots.

If Trump wins, we will definitively get the F35, especially in this situation with NATO-Russia.
Trump is a businessman and he holds the advantage now because the American political mainstream and the media have been UTTERLY discredited in the past 2 years. Even the average Joe in the US who couldn't give a damn is now aware of the shenanigans happening. I wouldn't say he's pro-Turkey so much as generally pro-US-interests, which happens to include Turkish interests.

More precisely, it may not be an obstacle to block negotiations. Even if Trance 4 is purchased, it will only be on condition that Turkish indigenous ordnance can be used.

Of course, if the control suites that Aselsan will develop for the aircraft integrated, it will be possible to fully indigenize the system and carry out further integration activities independently within the Air Force. In the first instance, purchases can be made without waiting for this (as this may be an area of legal negotiation that requires the approval of other non-UK partner companies) and indigenization can be spread over a wider period.

what about the integration of domestic munitions? Like kgk for example

Meteors. Greeks don't really have that much of a funding does it?
If the Europeans want, they donate meteor missiles against Türkiye if necessary, give them cheap, sell second hand etc. It is not necessary to give money. Like Ukrainian aid.

On an issue that should not be forgotten in connection with Greek Rafale aircraft, Qatar Rafale aircraft came to our country and joined the Anatolian Eagle. I think our defense industry did not miss this opportunity and may have noted down the necessary information that could be used against these aircraft. For example, eh, how the pod detects the rafale radar, how it confuses it, how it unlocks it. Again, the f16 pilots of the air force may have worked tactically with the rafale aircraft in the air defense units.

Current calculations of our Air Force do not give unmanned systems enough credit. For UCAV systems to be considered seriously the Kızılelma and Anka-3 need to make their first successes. Now that Kızılelma is already flying and Anka-3 is stretching its wings in preparation to a first flight it is likely that we will see what their initial contribution to our Air Force capabilities will be before the end of this year. We should not make any firm decision before we see them making their first hits and take a new look at the big picture after that.

I think the force should own the Kızılelma and Anka 3 + Ram technology. Producers should be encouraged. A very important ability. In addition, the producers should be assisted in the maturation of the products and given time.

what if they offered to give the T1's with their source code?
The news that seeped through about the Tranche 1 Typhoon sale, included source codes anyway.
But it was discussed here in detail that upgrading Tranche 1 to Tranche 3 and more involved “Major” work on the planes. The best and most economical way to use them would be to upgrade them to Tranche 2+ status where they would have a good deal of Tranche 3 equipment on board. But this would mean that the planes wouldn’t have the much acclaimed hybrid Aesa radar new planes possess.
The main issues with the Typhoon sale to Turkey are :
1. Germany - Will the Germans agree to this sale? Turkey is not Saudi Arabia and has not murdered Kasikci to be sanctioned. But will Germany stipulate conditions on the sale for their use in Northern Syria etc. (Larger the order the less opposition Germany can raise).
2. The logistical problems that will come with the planes - Parts, Training of new pilots and ground crews. Plus ground hangars and buildings suitable for these planes.
3. Price - These planes are not cheap.
4. For new planes; production of planes and engines in Turkey - If we are thinking of 2 new squadrons and an old modernised Tranche 1 squadron; We will need 100+ new engines. Local production option of these will take time. We don’t have the set up ready on the ground.

If source codes are included in the deal wouldn’t we be able to integrate our own AESA radar given the dimensions fit.

Our Murad radar may be altered to fit. But the radar will need to be integrated not just physically but electronically too to the Typhoon’s systems; not taking in to account possible unforeseen compatibility issues. But as they say; If there is the will, there is a way!
Only Aselsan and BAE Systems can answer the viability of this question.

Tranche 1s without a radar upgrade are only good for training purposes. I think Tranche 1s should be upgraded with Özgür suite and either Murad or ECRS radar. It is time to switch to AESA radars.

UK has taken on a project to upgrade their Tranche 3 planes’ radars to ECRS MK2 version. This is a game changer radar that uses both GaAs and GaN T/R modules in a hybrid configuration.

It is also stated that Tranche 2, even tranche 1 planes can be furnished with these radars albeit with extensive mods..

If they can find a way to economically integrate this radar to the existing Tranche 1 planes, it would be an acceptable choice for Turkey, as these planes have already been modified as multi role fighters.

According to above explanation, the Tranche 1 planes need to be upgraded to Tranche 2 at least so that the modifications incorporated will allow ECRS MK2 radar system to be installed.
