Looks like the EU is all in on reconstruction in the earthquake regions:

This is way beyond what one would have expected, but also shows us that Europe is still a friend of ours even after two difficult decades.

They will be asking for that money back one day.

Just another sinister plot.

Is it reconstruction or just another way to spread their woke virus of transgender rights and degeneracy.

This is your take from his absolutely non-binding soapbox speech? You are an intelligent guy. You should know better that he did not promise anything substantial but rather created the illusion of major EU-assistance on its way to disaster hit Turkey. This is what politicians are trained to do. You should be able to figure this out on your own.

From your speech:

So far we have mobilised roughly five and a half million euros in support for the immediate and most urgent needs.
[...] organise a donor's conference to gather global support for Türkiye [...] of course we will not be able to cover all of it but we want to cover a significant part of it [...]

I genuinely wonder, for medium countries like Turkey, Kazakhstan, KSA, UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia and BD what exactly can be considered as strategic relationship?

High degree of trade?
High level of defence cooperation?

Let's just say Turkey achieve both of this with all these countries mentioned above and more.

Still, the only thing these countries can genuinely offer Turkey is, solid political support on world stage.

Other than that realistically, they don't have the ability to intervene militarily if Turkey is under aggression.

Nor they will dare to break economic sanctions ( if placed upon on Turkey ) by superpowers.

And also, it goes other way around too for Turkey w.r.t the mentioned countries.

So, is just good trade/defence co-operation + political and moral support good enough to be considered as strategic relationship?

Or perhaps more truthfully, these are some good step stones for something ACTUALLY STRATEGIC in next 20/30 years and beyond when these above mentioned countries with more or less similar geopolitical interests would much more developed and economically stronger in a multi polar world.

I am curious what do you think?

Also, @what @Rodeo @Yasar @Knowledgeseeker @Ryder and others.
The defense has given Turkey another hand of power when it comes to its diplomacy. If we put aside military alliances that Turkey and the other Muslim states could form we should look at what's right in front of us. Let me rephrase your question! Which political value can Turkey give to countries such as Bangladesh?

From what I gathered from journalists reporting in Brussel, is that the EU really wants to massively help.
Of course all of that is just empty promises until something is actually done. But the statement is a very positive one.

We'll see in the upcoming weeks and months.
I also dont share the paranoia of the comments above yours.

They're going to try to sway the ethnic minorities in the area in their favor. So that they might become "useful" someday...
They will be asking for that money back one day.

Just another sinister plot.

Is it reconstruction or just another way to spread their woke virus of transgender rights and degeneracy.

So no help is better?

The only way the EU helps if is that help is the foundation for later weakening Turkiye. They're not friends and they see you as an inevitable enemy that needs to be crushed.

If they gave a shit about you, they wouldn't have put so many malicious preconditions for EU accession, wouldn't have spent the last 60 years ignoring Turkish Cypriots and even demonising them for daring to survive an ethnic cleanse, further demonising Turkiye for legally intervening to stop it. They wouldn't keep pushing the 1974 narratives, or constantly racially belittle you in their European parliament, whilst sending guns, money and missionaries to the PKK/YPG, whilst forcing the agenda that these terrorist organisations represent all Kurds whilst covering up their atrocities in Syria, Iraq, Turkey and even the EU (drug trade, kidnapping, assassinations, people smuggling). Meanwhile you're the bad guy for trying to keep your borders and nation secure from terrorist threats. Man there's more shit they get up to that's adversarial to you, but i'm tired Robbie.

So many Eu members who have a state religion.

While Turkiye itself does not.

Thats why I dont believe in that Secular Liberal bs excuses from the EU.

Its a Christian club. Because they would also accept Albania by now.

They dont because they are Muslims. Most Albanians dont even follow their religion but still does not even qualify them.

Albania is also a secular country even more than a lot of eu members.

How quickly people forget when Assadists iranian death squads and Russia were going to attack idlib which would have caused another 4 million refugees to flood Turkiye, threatening Turkiye not to intervene, not to stop it.

Clearly the EU doesnt want the refugees while at the same time they want millions to keep flooding Turkiye to destabilise that nation and drain her energy and resources, keeping her weak and backward.

Reminds me of some Turks after the greeks sent the second lowest number of international aid workers to the south east of Turkiye. All of the sudden the decades of criminality and hostility is all forgotten.

Keep getting caught sleeping and one day you will wake up without a nation.

My humble opinion is @what saying is right.
Some help is better than no help.

I am failing to understand why everybody here using emotionally charged arguments to assess an state to states matter?

The very same reason we often criticize the current Turkish government for.

No offense, but a lot of the time I see, somewhat ironically, Turks from the both spectrums of political wings making the same mistake when assessing foreign policy matters.

I don't wanna be accused of being hypocrite, so just to give an example,
USA and UK literally tried to prevent my country's liberation by sending carrier strike groups. but now today, i am happy to get from both countries whatever I can in most of the matters.
Bacause, circumstances always changes in geopolitics.

I actually didn't meant only future security alliances though.
What I want to say is, we will be able to use the word STRATEGIC in much more meaningful way, like how USA refer it when comes its European and east Asian allies. Which also include high level of economic integration.

And this is a desirable possibility for countries with more and less similar geopolitical interests.
Let me rephrase your question! Which political value can Turkey give to countries such as Bangladesh?
Like I said political support on the world stage. For example, when Rohinga crisis broke out Turkey tried to do as much as it could to speak out against it in solidarity with Rohinga people and Bangladesh.

secular liberalism is good and allows freedom of thought and freedom of and from religion.

This relatively new woke bullshit is being forced onto people from select international corporations who intend to incrementally create a Marxist international order where everyone conforms to the same authoritarian realities.

Stop mixing the two, that's what islamist authoritarian fascists want you to think so that you fall into their trap which will result in the same outcome.

Always remember nearly every islamist fascist terrorist organisation or political entity has its roots in the same places in which the woke nonsense is pushed. FETO is headquartered in the USA and is a CIA asset. FETO was the biggest backer of Erdogan and AK party, its like the elephant in the room that all political islamists conveniently ignore. The same nation that pushes wokeism internationally is the same nation that plays the biggest role in pushing islamo-fascism internationally. Not to mention that the biggest backers of marxist pkk terrorists today is the USA. The USA will use all these ideological idiots for their own imperial ambitions.

America using their FETO agents were doing everything to turn Turkiye into a theocratic islamo fascist tyranny. While at the same time using these fascists to justify it by saying look at the west/america and its perceived LEGBTQ+ issues. Its just a game to the people with power and influence, its a trap.

We don't authoritarianism whether we call it wokeism or islamism. The outcome is the same either way, tyranny, poverty and fear.

Most Muslims who think they against wokeism fell into the islamism trap and those against the islamism trap fell into the wokeism trap, either way both sides are being controlled from the same head leading down the same path. And when the path has reached its destination both will be put under the boot and neither side will be able to cry about it.

Not just that how can they believe in Secularism especially when you have monarchs in Europe who literally believe they are appointed by God.

Even if monarchs power has been reduced they still believe they are appointed by God to rule.

I dont see the EU causing any fuss about it.

That's what social media and non-stop propaganda through government media does to people. Or some people.

And the retard at the top who is holding onto those aliens for more than a decade tells me ALOT for whom he is really working. #1 prio of Türkiye is to get rid of them. No matter how but it MUST be done.

The intention is to create a semi socialist state which basically will mean poverty for everyone, no freedom of thought, a big all seeing and all controlling state. Tight regulations on all media and speaking freely will be criminalised. Just like when erdogan said that social media is the greatest evil out there, he wants to control it or ban it ultimately. Anyone who says anything against the state/government will be tagged as a "far right" lunatic.

The reason they need millions of refugees is because the social benefit system will be much better and more appealing to them since they come from warzones or nothing, they will be used as the main tool to bring this system in. These people also have no emotional connection to the history of the state or its culture, so they don't care what happens to the state as long as they get their benefits. You see this mindset among non-Turk Islamist minorities of Turkiye who are comfortable saying kurds should be given this or that or its ok for millions of MENA refuges to flood Turkiye.

The other reason nationalism has to be attacked/destroyed is to open the door to this new system this new way of life. As long as you have proud nationalists it makes it extremely difficult for governments to change the standard way of living or thinking. This is why especially in the west the media created the impression that being a nationalist means you are nazi or a racist or a fascist. Its about changing the social conditions in which we are ruled.

This game has been incrementally happening to Turkiye for many decades. And because it happens incrementally people don't see it but rather be come comfortable with it and everything quickly becomes "the new normal".

The outcome is meant to be authoritarianism. It doesnt matter whether its islamist, secular or marxist, its intended/designed to lead to the exact same outcome.

Most people will enter this system loving it, thinking nothing is wrong and actually fighting those who oppose it. Just look at Russia or China as examples of totalitarian states that is loved by its people.

Tradition and ownership of public land. This is all there is to the royalty in Europe, nothing more.

To claim these countries with their royalties are not somehow secular is just absurd, in the lightest term I can use.
