Just took a look at Menendez's probable replacements. Two most likely are Ben Cardin and Jeanne Shaheen. Cardin spoke about Kavala back then but he seems much calmer. Shaheen co wrote the bill that removed Turkey from the JSF and also wrote extensively about Op. Peace Spring. Cardin is set to retire in 2025.
Not great, not terrible.
Cardin replaced Menendez, possibly due to seniority of age.
