Not quite so, we are still getting 4+ TF2000 and 8 I-Class.Are we pivoting away from corvettes for OPVs?
It was an additional batch since the beginning but numbers are updated.Does that mean replacements are also in consideration as well or additional hulls will be added to Corvette/OPV numbers?
What I meant was, I was expecting us to increase the number of our corvettes, focused primarily on ASW, as 10 seemed like a good number for new OPVs. I'll admit it was just my expectations but still, I'm curious. Not quite so, we are still getting 4+ TF2000 and 8 I-Class.
I don't think navy ever directly mentioned an Ada batch II in the last decade. A littoral ASW corvette with not much to show for ASW equipment was always an interesting prospect. I think we can expect even TF-2000 to be better armed in that regard. I'm really looking forward to Ada MLU/upgrade.What I meant was, I was expecting us to increase the number of our corvettes, focused primarily on ASW, as 10 seemed like a good number for new OPVs. Plus, we still have quite a few "Ada"s to name them after![]()
That's why I said primarily focused on ASW, we have much more experience and domestic systems now. But as you said, it wasn't mentioned, just my hope as I think we need platforms that are dedicated to, or at least with primary focus on, detecting and engaging submarines.I don't think navy ever directly mentioned an Ada batch II in the last decade. Is Hisar Class an OPV or an ASW ship, can't really have both. Really doubt half of those will be part of the regular load. We will have 10+ Hisars. People really should adjust their expectations for its armament. Maybe 1-2 ASW variant, sure. No way all ships get that loadout.Hisar class is dedicated ASW OPV,its cilent with electric motor,Düfas,hızır,hull mounted sonar,ASW heli, lightweight torpedo.
Hisar also has 4 diesel motors mate. And while it does have some ASW capability, it is not a dedicated platform. Also, where did you see the torpedo claim? ASFAT doesn't mention it at all.Hisar class is dedicated ASW OPV,its cilent with electric motor,Düfas,hızır,hull mounted sonar,ASW heli, lightweight torpedo.
Isn't it a little bit insufficient?View attachment 70625
I recognize when i see National FAC (former TTHB). Although this was an old design.
ARDA - CENK-300N, X band radar - 180 km range.

I wish I had known the competitors' data's to compare. The given range is against fighter-sized targets (~1m^2)

Hisar-D, Siper Block 1D and Sapan. Finally a new infographic on TF-2000. Details I haven't seen before include, "kamikaze USV, mini UAV launchers, swarm uav" integration, as well as a landing pad for a single 15ton helicopter(so will be able to accommodate T925) and hangar space 2 Seahawk and 2 helicopter UAVs. Start of construction is real soon now.
