Could be "more investments (especially in INA SWF)"? We don't know what's happen behind closed door. And still, our partnership with QUAD or we are de facto member of so called QUINT are will be put to the best conceal way as we can for the sake of you know lah.

Anything that is, our government surely not just do it (or risking ourselves) for nothing. Even I have a feeling, we are one of the most potential country to compete against China (economically).

Loosen laws for Investments are the step to increase Investments to come to our country. Just add more on infrastructures, good skilled workers, and less "pungli", then said to others like minded countries (that feel threatened by China) to Invest in our country rather than China. Hope our economy will booming because of other countries investments here soon, you all have to hope for it too, for the sake of the country that you wish its peace and prosper.

What is our advantage by joining Quad?

I read an article last year written by some former Indian cabinet higher ups that QUAD need to add some countries with strong manufacturing capabilities as members to provide alternatives to China. Then he mentioned Vietnam and Indonesia.

So I guess that's one of the advantages.

Though they are commies, Vietnam clearly more valuable and had decisive attitude compared to democratic government like Philippines or even Malaysia, regarding China containment strategy.

If we do joint this club ( which i doubt will ever be acknowledged by our gov at all !!) Things will be interesting in the coming time . Why ?? Even the US would be at ease with our two timing stance here ( for now ) ... Liked or not some means of back door communication are a necessity in every conflict . While proclaimed as a neutral country everybody knows how much we loathed the communism and how our military are geared toward NATO's standard as a preparation for a rainy days...
Yet , some pretenses are still needed until the shits do starting hit the fan .
The easiest parameter to be watched is how preferential treatment we do get until now .... ?? Top of the line weapon system and GSP in trade are some of the examples here ..
Or do you think that all of those easing acces restriction are things just falling off from the sky ?? ...

Some things are never meant to be said yet the implementation on the ground was the witnessing benefits here ...

Yet , yesterday's joint statement by our MoD are making me a litle bit nervous here. When pretenses and facades are start to falling off then things are starting to get real .... fast !

Expanding quad to quint and hex and hept and so on....its premature I feel. Things are bit early and hazy on it still.

I think it needs few years (at least Biden term 1) of current quad to establish concretely what it even is about on the hard matters.

India for example will need clarification on how US intends to pursue CAATSA action on its S-400 acquiring. This is why so far Indian govt at least almost always pushes the "soft" cooperation as first thing when mentioning Quad....it is on wait and see mode....but existing military cooperation is moved and augmented into it in meantime (might as well).

If Biden admin US decide to take tough line with S-400 issue, Quad (in current 4) chances of forming/setting into harder alliance is delayed and stalled.

Anything in economic realm, that can already be done outside the Quad thing anyway....Quad to me needs to bring something new to the table and also be readily apparent to all. With that everyone knows concretely what they are getting into and expansion (5, 6, 7 etc) to more like-minded parties makes sense.
