Islamabad, May 30 (PTI) Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Sunday that Pakistan would hold talks with India if New Delhi restores the pre-August 5, 2019 status of Jammu and Kashmir.

India abrogated the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 on August 5, 2019 and bifurcated it into two Union territories.

"If Pakistan revives its relations with India (without the latter restoring the status of Kashmir), it will be similar to turning our back on the Kashmiris,†Khan said during a live questions and answers session with the people.

Khan said that if India takes back the steps it took on August 5, "then we can definitely hold talks".

New Delhi has repeatedly said Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and the country is capable of solving its own problems.

India has told Pakistan that it desires normal neighbourly relations with it in an environment free of terror, hostility and violence. India has said the onus is on Pakistan to create an environment free of terror and hostility.

Ties between India and Pakistan nosedived after a terror attack on the Pathankot Air Force base in 2016 by terror groups based in the neighbouring country. Subsequent attacks, including one on Indian Army camp in Uri, further deteriorated the relationship.

The relationship dipped further after India''s war planes pounded a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist training camp deep inside Pakistan on February 26, 2019 in response to the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed.

The relations deteriorated after India announced withdrawing special powers of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcation of the state into two union territories.

However, lately there has been some improvement when the two countries agreed in February to restore peace on the Line of Control. It is said that the rival officials have been interacting through the back channel diplomacy to ease tension.

Khan also responded to several questions about domestic issues including inflation and promised that his government was working hard to bring down prices of commodities. He also said that Pakistan will continue to achieve economic growth in the days to come as he termed the process gradual and one that would take time.




Well, if Pakistan is willing to discuss the return of PoK - I don't think there would be an objection.

LAHORE: National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf and Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that India was behind the Johar Town blast in Lahore as Inspector General of Police (IG) Punjab Inam Ghani shared the findings of the investigations from suspects involved in the act, ARY NEWS reported on Sunday.
Moeed Yusuf while addressing the presser said that the Lahore blast was sponsored by India and the person who managed the entire act was linked to RAW.

“The mastermind of the Johar Town blast belongs to RAW,” the NSA said adding that India is involved in terrorist acts against the country.

He said that the day the Johar Town blast occurred, a simultaneous cyberattack took place at the investigation infrastructure of the country.
“Other than the call records, we have the data on bank account in India used by handlers to transfer money for the bomb blast,” he said adding that a third country was used to transfer money to the orchestrators of the blast.

Moeed Yusuf said that the prime minister has given clear instructions to expose the Indian hand in terrorist attacks in Pakistan and utilize all legal and other resources to pursue the case globally and expose the real face of the neighbouring country.
We have concrete evidence of Indian involvement in the Johar Town blast, he reiterated.

IG Punjab Inam Ghani’s briefing ​

IG Punjab Inam Ghani said that the CTD investigated the matter within 16 hours and arrested Peter Paul David who arranged a vehicle for the blast with a tempered engine plate.
“Those who sold out the vehicle are also under our custody,” he said adding that they have all evidence linking David to the Lahore blast. “Eid Gul, an Afghan origin man, carried out reconnaissance multiple times in the targeted area,” he said adding that later he and his wife prepared the vehicle for the blast.
“Eid Gul parked the vehicle fitted with 20-kilogram explosives in Johar Town,” the IG Punjab said adding that the bomb was fitted in the manner that no parts of the vehicle could be extracted from it.
Inam Ghani said that they have arrested all suspects in Pakistan and also have the call and bank records of their handlers operating from abroad.

Such claims are as tenous as the claim the NSA has made against India over this incident. To what degree you buy in to these claims pretty well depends on which side of the fence you sit or your geo-political stance.

You talk as if these are incontrevertible facts. Pakistan's most wanted terrorist Altaf Hussain has sat right in middle of London. In fact his MQM even murdered one of their own in London. Yet Altaf still lives in a mansion in London.

As Imran Khan said would UK allow Pakistan a drone attack on him or accept a SSG squad killing him in London? Such issues are complex and not cut/dry like you make out them.

I have no doubt that MQM has recieved funds from India. This even came up in a Metropolitan Police investigation in London when they found large amounts of unexplained cash.
