Laser is necessary, but is in no way a solve all solution. And without a doubt is much more expensive so would only be used in larger bases. We have hundreds of small bases, with 30-40 or less men.

I think M113 with quad cannon has dual purpose. First purpose of use is against ground targets. Additional it is used against UAVs .
Though, i agree with you, obviously quad 50cal cannon will be useless in case of attack.

Because the vehicle hasnt any modern sensor that could detect and que the gun.



On the other hand geometry and rate of fire of these weapons aren't enough.

Smart ammunitions like ATOM are the real solution.

But again quad barrel turret could be great against infantry and ground targets. Just ground targets ,that's all.

We need the ammunition, weapons, missiles of Stryker M-SHORAD, Americans know their shit.

I don't like the gun and and the ammo of our BURÇ . Because it has slower 3barrel Gatling gun. I would prefer ATOM40mmm or new 30x113mm smart munitions with Stingers and Umtas.

The position of the sungur on Gürz is just wrong. The exaust flames and gas is directly pointed at sensitive parts.

GÜRZ is a Multi-Purpose Short/Very Short Range, Autonomous, Air and Missile Defense System. GÜRZ System mission is to provide layered air and missile defense for stationary/moving forces and high value assets against, all UAVs from micro mini to class 5, helicopters, fighter aircrafts, cruise missiles, mini guided bombs and air-to-ground missiles.

And;

Maintaining the military security, GÜRZ features to work in a squadron of three GÜRZ systems, one of which takes the role of squadron master. The squadron will communicate via radio in this configuration. The system can connect (via radio) to higher echelon C2 while operating on its own or in a squadron. This multi-purpose system does not need any leveling system for firing hence it has the ability to utilize Fired-On-The-Move.

This Multi-Purpose Autonomous Air and Missile Defense System uses following solutions:

• Sensors: search radar, tracking radar, EO for active and passive target detection, identification, classification and tracking
• Effectors: V-SHORAD&SHORAD missiles and ATOM® Air-Burst and HEI(-T) Munition and RF Countermeasure system
• Fire control and command control subsystems for optimized multi-layered air and missile defense
• Other subsystems for effective functionality of the overall system

I have multiple issues with GÜRZ. First of all it goes against land forces doctrine:
Land forces wants to spread out expensive equipment as much as possible to different vehicles. In tbe case one fails, is hit or has any other trouble like engine trouble or is stuck in mud whatever, the rest should not be useless. That's why Korkut, Hisar etc have radar separate and multiple platforms for launch or firing, with redundancies. Furthermore, it is taxing on personnel to handle too many equipment and jobs at once, instead they want every personnel focused on one task.

GÜRZ is instead like a land ship, it's big, expensive an has everything at once. If one is hit or lost, you lose multiple capabilities, and the cost would be severe as well. You lose radars, jammer, cannon, both missile systems...

Another big flaw is the fact that missiles are connected to turret and pointed in the same direction together. If multiple threats were to engage from different directions you would be unable to fire at all of them at once despite having separate systems for all. If you knew enemy could come from a limited area it could still work but otherwise you would be easily taken out by multiple small drones. So I think they should at least separate the hisar / bozdoğan launchers to a different position. I think going from this idea, you could add sungur or aesa radar to existing korkut systems instead as an upgrade, and have hisar and jammers / laser as separate vehicle. Otherwise to use Gürz effectively, you would need 2-3 of them at once.
