What does Autonomous mean?
Latest Thread
My understanding is: without someone pressing “fire” button. What does Autonomous mean?
Well usually it would mean no human-input. Meaning the System recognized a threat on its own and fired the missiles on its own as well. But here we see the missiles being fired by a person, so who knows. What does Autonomous mean?
Yes, this makes sense. As far as I understand, autonomous mode is used in a saturation attack on a country. AI coordinates layered air defense systems based on the type of missile launched, directing the most suitable air defense system to the attacking missile, focusing on minimum ammunition and maximum target destruction. My understanding is: without someone pressing “fire” button.
System’s own radar recognises threat and it fires an interceptor missile by itself after targeting it.
Bro, not usually!Well usually it would mean no human-input. Meaning the System recognized a threat on its own and fired the missiles on its own as well. But here we see the missiles being fired by a person, so who knows.
Conspiracy theory!!!Yes, we are helping Germany at the moment. Nothing you said (including your conspiracy theory), Is in contradiction what I have said. I am exposed to nothing, but able to listen Parliamentary Inquiry. Some are denied and some are answered. I listened to this who are asking the defense co-operation between Türkiye and Germanys (secret) defense industry.
Im aware of this. Im closely following the BPK.Conspiracy theory!!!
Then I ask you, what?
Have you also heard that German weapons deliveries to Israel will resume as normal starting Monday? At Israel's request...
I don't like to say this, but we are exposed to propaganda, it cannot be stopped. And in Germany, Israeli propaganda is always running at full speed.
The reason why the arms deliveries to Israel are being approved, I will tell you now. Hold on tight.
Because Israel is no longer attacking the Gaza Strip so intensely!!!!!
In Germany, politics is determined by industry. It doesn't matter who is in power. Whatever the automotive, pharmaceutical, and weapons industries say is implemented through politics. The end!!!
I think it just means it's not a theater level engagement of the battery but unit level one. We also can't see the search radar(ALP-300G); only the fire control radar(Akrep-1000G) on the video. It's a test of a "blinded" Siper battery without access to its search radar's or of any other systems in the Steel Dome picture. What does Autonomous mean?
So, it’s a standalone unit cut off from network working in full automation (human still in the loop), right?I think it just means it's not a theater level engagement of the battery but unit level one. It has nothing to do with AI features.
So let me try to understand this and translate it for us mere mortals:I think it just means it's not a theater level engagement of the battery but unit level one. That shouldn’t work. It has to receive data from a search radar regrading the presence and position of target. It is not cut off from network. On the contrary. It is connected. But not sending signals to protect its position from being discovered. So, it’s a standalone unit cut off from network working in full automation (human still in the loop), right?
So let me try to understand this and translate it for us mere mortals:
There was no search radar present with the unit. It received search data from elsewhere. It was manually fired and fire control radar and/or its onboard seeker guided it to target.

At least that is what I understand from @Sanchez ’s explanation . Please correct me if I am wrong.
EDIT:
Also the Turkish word “Otonom” being of foreign origin is most likely used in slightly different meaning here.
Indeed, Akrep-1000G is multifunction radar capable of undertaking search duties as well:I think AKREP-1000G can perform both search and track in emergency situation (where primary search radar is out of commission) as it is in principle a Multi-function AESA array.
This test was meant to demonstrate that.
Atleast this is what I understood from @Sanchez 'blinded' unit level engagement comment.
Think of Hisar A+ Otonom, it's also designed to be able to work by itself, not as part of the whole architecture. There's nothing "autonomous" as in unmanned about it, except for being a system that can undertake all its mission set by itself. Word here mean something like "All-in-One", not unmanned. Like Spyder AiO.Also the Turkish word “Otonom” being of foreign origin is most likely used in slightly different meaning here.
