A temporary deployment of 8–10 TB2s for around two weeks in the Black Sea would enable high coverage density in order to analyse patterns, response times and deployment profiles. Should the situation stabilise, the deployment can then be reduced in a controlled manner to 4–6 platforms without significantly losing effectiveness.
The combination of EO/IR sensors and a supplementary AESA Pod from Aselsan is sufficient for the detection, identification and target assignment against this class of drones. In conjunction with BOZDOĞAN and EREN air-to-air guided missiles, effective interception capability is provided without signalling a claim to air sovereignty over manned platforms.
The approach thus remains below the escalation threshold, as only unmanned targets are engaged and no manned aircraft are involved. At the same time, valuable operational insights into sensor technology, command and control chains and chains of effect are gained under real-world conditions – a controlled demonstration of capability without strategic escalation. We should view it positively that we can test and evaluate AAMs in field trials under real-world conditions.
Imagine you can't get something like that without provoking a crisis or conflict. That way, we can improve our ammunition and sensors. Countries like Germany & Europe and others would kiss our feet for META Combat Data. Where else can you get something like that except through conflict?
