I will be honest with you, Armenians are famous for lies... in their culture, its not a shame. They think, when you need it, you need to be able to use it.. so i dont say, if they say it, it is 100% true... but, one thing is interesting that, imagine deputy of defense minister of Armenia talk about it, all their telegram and other news channels share it, but India doesnt say back anything. at the end of the day, it is your product, they cannot lie about it, when especially you are one of those only countries help them openly...
One thing this war unfortunately missed: a destroyed Swathi:p

Well see it isn't about lies or stuff, the thing is that Indian army's acquisition council is highly import based, the day they see the system working ineffectively they will immediately reject it and won't accept.
They do lots of trials before inducting any indigenous system even it get failed even a single time, boom,it will suffer massive setback for getting ordered.
So chances are nil, that swathi failed.
Apart from that these systems are tested at real time warfare,so even more less chances.
Anyways I'm not gonna derail the thread forever.

The Russians are deathly afraid of the newer flanker variants to perform badly. After the PAF shot down an Indian Su-30MKI, the Belorussians began to complain about the Su-30. And something strange happened. Putin cozied up with Imran Khan shortly after operation swift retort. The Pakistani authorities have never publicly gloated openly about the shootdown of the Su-30MKI, but only about the MiG-21 Bison.

After all, all it took was an almost 40 year old F-16 with AMRAAMs to shoot down the 'mighty' Su-30MKI.

After watching what happened in syria, libya and Azerbaijan against Russian hardware part of me thinks that much of Russian hardware is actually trash.

There was no Indian WLR in the area, the delivery was always scheduled for the upcoming year (2021).

I have read where the basic "source" of this news came from originally. Its kind of a sun-dont-shine kind of place.

So continuing along the line of he says she says from online "sources" (using other online "sources" that are all quoting from the root "source") is futile and silly. You can do that with literally any topic to assert something was there when it actually wasnt.

If it was there in contravention to the actual evidence at hand, it would need the same hard evidence (like the OSINT and RECCE that has been posted of other systems).

Not speculation and quoting from quoting from quoting.

Trust me, the shot down Indian pilot was given nice, hot cup of Pakistani chai. And had the Armenians tried to use their Russian junk I suspect he would have been enjoying Azerbaijani Helva.

The Pakistani authorities have never publicly gloated openly

ISPR gloated about all kind of things in history.

Big astronishing unprecedented victories at the gates of Dhaka... P.A regular army not being involved in Kargil.

We all know the way they unfolded in the end w.r.t reality.

So any further gloating without proof is to be taken only so credible.

it is not fake news, as i said above, i closely follow Armenian news and they and their army specialist mentioned it several times... they openly talk about it.. even those EW systems supported by Russia and they couldnt do anything to Turkish UAV, or Russia didnt let Armenia to use its Su-30 jets afraiding that it will be downed.. as any aircraft or helicopter Armenia tried to send was downed immediately.. i think some secret Turkish systems were used there but nobody knows what... i guess new Turkish EW system on f16 and might be some upgraded s125 anti aircraft missiles that actually fitted with Turkish systems..

Come on bro, does it sounds any realistic to you? You buy a fighter plane to use it in war times, and your vendor doesn’t allow you to use it, because it could be damaged? 😂

if you asked me before the war started, i would say no, but the reality is Armenia not a single times used its SU-30 in Karabagh war that their army also accepted it. the question is why?
Why would you choose to loose your several Su-25 jets and their pilots when you got a better system which could save your pilots? while looking for an answer for this question, if i hear the mentioned things that Russia didnt allow them to do it, then its realistic for me. how about you?

today, i saw Armenians killed our pow and put fuel on it and put on fire. the worst part, they enjoy of it.. while we returned more than 200 POW, we have only recieved 14+2 villiger. i write you here, trust me, there is going to be another big operation by Azerbaijan..

Russia need to escalate so it can kick out Armenian government but our side need to show them that we are not a game for you... Russian soldiers need to pass on tank mine to understand...

+ the maneuverability of su30mki makes it easier to dodge incoming AMRAAM C-5,they have good jammers too.
Su30mki was never downed.

Please stay on topic. Downing SU-30 is an interesting topic to discuss, but in a new thread.

Regarding the latest Armenian attacks in the recently freed areas, I think we should not forget that in a recent interview the so called "Artsakh" Security Council Secretary Vitaly Balasanyan (who got blood on his hands from Khodjaly) announced the return of the territories that came under the control of Azerbaijan.

"I want to inform our people that the borders will be clarified, the issue of status will be raised. Not that the Askeran, Hadrut regions and other territories remained under the control of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. We will return these territories. I want to assure our people that we will carry out this work." he said, adding "We did not suffer defeat, did not knelt down. In what position Azerbaijan is now, I will not open the brackets, and in what position it will be, we will see.".

After that interview some other Armenians offered their more pricise thoughts on the matter asking for guerrilla tactics:
"On the other hand, it cannot be ruled out that some autonomous guerrilla groups of Armenians are beginning to probe the possibility of action behind enemy lines. It is clear that these actions should have been started in mid-October, since everything contributed to this.

After the conclusion of a truce, such actions will be considered illegal, at least on paper. But if we talk about real life, then all over the territory of the Hadrut, Shusha and Zangelan districts, very soon, battles may begin to boil again. Yes, their intensity will be much lower than during the active phase of the war, but losses can easily reach 15 people killed per day. And this is not enough.

And any sane person understands what 20 - 30 trained groups or simply sniper pairs and fours can do in this theater of operations."

If the case is as mentioned in the above mentioned interviews and statements, those taking part in the attacks should be handled out of the law of war.

Why they didnt use it? Because using the SU-30 would mean Azerbeidjan could attack Armenia proper without getting the CSTO involved. Its as simple as that

I wouldn't say Russian hardware is pure trash, but their capabilities are overly exaggerated by the Russians.

Armenia can give Syunik to Azerbaijan as reparation for all the damage it caused. Then peace will come.

UK wants new drones
in wake of Azerbaijan military success

MoD wants to procure cheaper armed drones for UK
as it studies lessons from recent conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh

Manufactured by Baykar Makina,
the TB2 drones cost as little as $1m to $2m each
according to analyst estimates,
far less than the near $20m per drone paid by the British military
for a fleet of 16 high-end, next-generation Protector drones
manufactured by US specialist General Atomics.

The TB2 drones have a much shorter operating range of up to 150km,
but are able to loiter in the air for up to 24 hours.
Because they are cheaper, military forces can afford to lose some in action.

I think they didn't use them because they would get shot down. The whole Armenian strategy was trying to bait Azerbaijan to attack Armenia directly and then the Russians would use it as an "excuse" to stop the conflict.

If you noticed the armenians had a free hand to attack and terrorise azerbaijan, but the slightest noise from Azerbaijan was screamed at internationally. Putin and Russia had nothing to say about the ballistic missile attacks on civilians in Azerbaijan, putin didnt once denounce armenian actions. But he was rushing to stop the Azerbaijani victory.
