Some good news it seems!

Good news would be a short-sighted view on these developments. Its patching up at best issues that shouldnt be there in first place and is causing dependencies on countries that you don't want. What if they decide to withdraw their money on short notice one day?

Why does Russia all of a sudden want its empire back.

Russians and their stupidity of taking their long lost lands is because they have not moved with the times.

You know why Russia does not have any economic power to do indirect rule or engage any kind of neo colonialism to carve out its own sphere influence.

Hence why they feel the need to constantly take territory while trying to get as much warm water ports as possible.

Russia's mentality of conquering and taking lands is what led to their Ukraine debacle.

Russia could have been stopped earlier if the world had balls when it came Chechnya and Georgia.

While turning a blind eye to its expansion into Africa and Syria.

People think Turks or Russians have this nostalgia for their empires when its seen in France and the nostalgia of when USA was the strongest country in the world.

I think any country who has a glorious past will no doubt live a sense of nostalgia.

I know people try to overhype the neo Ottoman Empire coming. Thats all just news to sell off papers and to trigger gullible liberals.

Any nation with political, economic and military power will try to defend its interests no matter what.

If people realised when Ataturk took Hatay back such news was there and Cyprus this was all before Erdogan.

What makes its dishonest is how the British press published a paper Empire strikes back.

I dispute Russia "suddenly" wanting its empire back.

They have always wanted to grow it, hold it or want the high water mark back....irredentism (of others perspective) does not factor into it.

The liberalism inserted by gorby and then attempted to be continued by yeltsin (till he reversed course quite early in mid 90s) left real foul taste and memory with the more "non-empire" and "regular democratic reformed nationstate" approach.

The empire psyche and Russian manifest destiny complex never faced any serious challenge (inside Russia) in any meaningful way.

Now whether its smart or stupid really depends on which side of fence you are on. It is better to simply understand the human psyche as it exists in various societies.

If one understands why Dostoevsky was deeply popular and deeply read even in "Atheistic" Soviet times , one will understand Russia a lot better. It is the crux of the matter in the end with Russia.

President Erdogan congratulated Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on his election victory. Ibrahim played the dialogue to all Malaysia at the press conference.

can you believe Mahathir Mohammad lost ? the architect of modern Malaysia!

this is really big. i like both of them.
anyway, it wont effect anything between Turkey and Malaysia.

Russia is the spine of Eurasia and China requires a friendly Russa at her back to give her the strategic defense in depth on the World Island that she otherwise lacks. Russia has energy and raw materials in abundance, and China needs these things. Chna is faced with an increasingly hostile Globalist-controlled authoritarian West that is both jealous of Chinas success and fearful that the Chinese model will supplant Western so-called "liberal democracy" in the Global South. Lies about Xinjiang and the Uighurs. Agitation over Taiwan. China needs Russia in her corner. A Russia that is defeated or otherwise subdued by the Collective West would be an unmitigated geopolitical/geoeconomic disaster of the 1st magnitude. China will simply NOT let that happen.

India is similar, except that the West has not yet turned its venom against New Delhi. Their turn will come however as they contine to forge their seperate path and reject Western dominance. Why else would India be backing Russia if not for their perceptions of what is in their long term interests?

As the saying goes from the U.S. joining NATO the purpose of it is to keep the U.S. in, the russians out and the Germans down. Turkey asks for additional 12 M270s that gets denied, F-35s get denied, western air defenses get denied, think an order of less F-16s is proposed in other words sooner or later the U.S. is going to view Turkey as a problematic member since it looks like they want to keep the turk man down. Still do business with Russia, get gas stream pipelines to Turkey, negotiate grain deal with Russia, and I am sure the Russians are happy that Turkey just bombed the oil fields in Syria which is currently U.S. territory I had no idea you guys had the balls to do that. Turkey has grown advance but I reccommend them to not use GE or rollys royce as their engine providers for the TFX and try to go domestic as much as possible.

there is some issues again happening in kosovo and the border with armenia and azerbaijan which I hope will be resolved as well and those countries to not be used as political tools or useful idiots by the west.

I dont want a Russian, ottoman or chinese empire but rather something like this.

Its all geopolitics in the end.

Turkiye nowadays is trying to balance both sides.

Its not wise to join any camp. As much as im beefing with Russia i dont mind cooperation along with trade.

Usa has been doing embargoes so many times I really lost count. Usa way is my way or the high way.

Turkiye would benefit with Western influence weakening.

What matters we all talk to everybody trade and cooperate. Turkiye speaking with both Ukraine and Russia is good.

India-Turkiye trade was 5 billion USD total just 5 years ago and has now exceeded 10 billion USD in 2021.

It will likely continue this pace of addition this decade and reach 15 - 20 billion USD by 2025 - 2030.

There will likewise be more business and commercial development between the two countries to add to ongoing level.

Turkish govt has appointed a very seasoned diplomat (Firat Sunel) to be ambassador to India.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said he proposed to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin establishing a trilateral mechanism with Russia and Syria and to hold a leaders meeting, primarily for discussions on the security issues.

“As of now, we want to take a step as Syria-Türkiye-Russia trio,” Erdoğan told journalists on his flight from Turkmenistan to Türkiye on Dec. 14.

“First our intelligence agencies, then defense ministers, and then foreign ministers could meet. After their meetings, we as the leaders, may come together. I also offered this to Mr. Putin. He also viewed it positively. Thus, we will start a series of negotiations,” he added.
