Why our sub so frequently get on the dock? And get dirty so easily?
I dont know what exactly happened, but its seem to be trying as long as possible underwater.

Look at its rust, its almost cover up entire hull.


Hopefully, im glad to see our top brass realize as soon as possible to make Natuna island a fortification.
Yet, its only naval, air, and land based base that capable to lauch preemptive strike in case of total war. But again ist still need tons of "gorengan" to be strong enough.


Anyway, still no clue what AH said at his tweet.
Surely its not a subs, we still have active contract with korean.
Or even Fighter, thats will need tons of lobby.
Or even surface combatant, i didnt notice that france put hard effot to push it onto us recently.


Or AH just loafing about small yet tactical alutsista one.

What does he mean by bakamla only?

Meaning when it's come to law enforcement on the high sea it's within BAKAMLA turf. With TNI-AL focusing more on high intensity conflict. But that doesn't mean BAKAMLA can't ask TNI-AL unit for assistance either when the situation become more intense and beyond the capability of BAKAMLA unit.

"Kepastian" is an abstract concept. Even after "janur kuning melengkung" there isn't any kepastian. Only after the graveyard stone (batu nisan) has been cast there is a kepastian.

Anyway so far there is only Naval Group coming to MoD right? There isn't any from either ThyssenKrupp or SAAB

That is good. Meaning the sub had spent more time underwater (which is good for crew training). Also keep in mind the nature of tropical water is different from that of temperate water (generally, less salinity with far more diverse microorganism)

Anyway so far there is only Naval Group coming to MoD right? There isn't any from either ThyssenKrupp or SAAB
Thyssen will come with Turkey I think. Sad to see SAAB didnt make the cut, I like their submarine :cry:

the 214 use PEM Fuel Cell for the AIP module , which have almost non existent moving parts other than small pumps , which contribute to "quietness" of the submarine , and they operates at 80 degree celcius which can contribute to reducing heat signature from submarine .

on the other hand , the french AIP use MESMA , which having a considerable amount of moving parts , may contribute to radiate detectable noise from submarine , and they operated at 700 degree celcius temperature (due to ethanol based fuel) .

beside above , PEM fuel cell have higher efficiency compared to French mesma 50-70% vs 30% , but french mesma had higher power output ...... , quite though choice for our MoD indeed :unsure:

I don't think it has that much moving part.
In a warm water like Indonesia and South China Sea, is heat signature gonna be that "mencolok" ?

TKMS-Golcuk offer would be much more interesting if there was some Pencil on it.

Should it be an AIP?
Japanese latest Soryu with new batteries offers as good as submerged range and endurance as the AIP. Easier to maintain and replace at any dock, while with AIP there will be a huge dependency on the supplier in maintenance and spare parts, also where it would be overhauled.
Besides capability and how good it sounds, operation-ability and maintenance should be considered here. You wouldn't be pleased when the submarine is bound to return to all the way back to surabaya once it is time for an AIP overhaul, assuming MRO abilitiy is gained recently one can not also assume capable facilities to be established soon in remote areas/bases yet alone the AIP maintenance capability.

I am aware Soryu class is a lot bigger, yet it is not obstacle what i refer to here is the tech,not submarine itself alone.

In a warm water like Indonesia and South China Sea, is heat signature gonna be that "mencolok" ?

TKMS-Golcuk offer would be much more interesting if there was some Pencil on it.
I think Turkey has made the offer already (with TN version), and your officials wasn't much interested.

It is not about automation, it carries more fuel, more range-snorkelled or submerged, more torpedos in storage. Number of submarines can be reduced and missions which will be tasked for AIP submarines can be given to soryu.
Type 214 is 6 meters, Soryu is 8 meters in depth, none of them are good for "shallow waters" they can not approach bottom that much.

Thermal signature only became issue when the sub at PD and the observer is flying overhead., but then again in that situation a simple Mk.1 Eyeball is enough to detect the sub. Keep in mind submarine operate underwater (in seawater) not on some open air surface, so thermal signature is generally non issue.

Those who say Indonesian water is shallow quite uninformed, the average depth of Java sea the most shallow ones in Indonesia is around 46 meter deep, Natuna sea is more than that, Arafura is in thousand, so with Palu and Celebes sea, Malacca strait is in twenty meter deep.

Java Sea average depth is merely 150' Natuna Sea merely slightly deeper but only at certain spots, even that not by any significant margin. Also, everything from the western side of Malacca Strait to the eastern end of Java Sea, northward to the entire South China Sea are newly made seas. What today's are seas in the region was a lush tropical jungle not so long ago (in geological timeframe). Not to mention warm enough to the point I felt cooler on the boat than underwater even in place with deep trench such as Lombok Strait I never have any thermometer when going under, but I do have my skin telling me the difference of temperature

Two subs are in queue, the 405 seems got some problemo.
Cant guarantee if its a fire or not.

Judging from its condition, the 405 are undergoing recoating process, and the fire are caught up at 2 point.
Anyway, from 5 subs, only 1 that still meronda.

Yes we have issue with budget cut from the latest submarine contact.
Even "karya anak bangsa" still didnt pass series of test.

Imho, the original 209 still better than 209 KW2.

Better the MOD get us some serious stuff.
