This is huge!

BMC Power is no longer a shareholder in TRMotor.

SSTEK and TUSAS are the remaining holders which was 55% BMC, 35% TUSAS, 10% SSTEK before.

TRMotor is currently responsible for the development of the MMU engine.

I personally see it as RR entering into game.
Been telling, BMC in TRMotor is the major obstacle for partnerships.
The same way it is in Altay MBT project.

We should do more business with the British especially after Brexit they are looking for new partners, increasing economic relations, promoting tourism, defence cooperations... maybe inviting them to the Eastern Mediterranean together with Germany.

It seems RR is certainly joining into Turkish turbofan program. It was their request and Turkish side may have accepted this term.

As a next step, I think we may see TAEC(%51 Kale, %49RR) will either form a partnership or own %25-30 share of TrMotor instead of BMC.

Pretty much confirmation that RR will be joining the project, thankfully. BMC being part of it was their biggest concern and the reason they exited in the first place.
Couldn’t hope for a better partner to develop a engine tbh. Hope this leads to Turkey becoming a partner in the Tempest project, in whatever way possible. I think it is in our interest to maintain good relations with Britain. This could help solidify those relations.

Maybe we will see the same happen with Altay. Companies like FNSS or Otokar are more likely to be able to lobby the German government, especially FNSS as it belongs part to the Brits, for easing of sanctions on the power pack.

Why you are preferring RR and not BMC ? At least BMC is a half Turkish company

Makes sense. When I told people that qatar shouldnt be in this, people said "We need money", "It impossible without qatar". But here we are. TRMotor without Qatar. I guess "aklın yolu bir".

Maybe this way we can see the EJ200 on the Hurjet. In fact, this offer looks very profitable for RR. I think this was what Ismail Demir mentioned.

If you are asking me, No I dont have any problem. We can be partners with qatar as long as its logical. But giving up on Rolls royce for qatar for Turbine engine development? that doesnt make any sense. Somethings worth more than money, which is Know How of RR in this case. And if you look at this closely, you can see RR will also give us money, By reducing development time and effort.
do you have a problem with qatar

In last reportage, Mr Demir stated that We want to cooperate with RR. We made some good offers to RR and we are waiting them to come close to our terms.
It seems both sides are opening the cards and coming close to each others request. Turkey wants core tech of gas turbine engine without any IP restrictions and RR and British government guarantee us freedom on this tech but wants to be a part of the production cycle in the overall life of the engines and get the profit. That's why they want TAEC inside the program.

This is fantastic news! If this was the position 3-4 years ago, we would have been in possession of an engine by now. (But there is a reason for everything) . Let us hope that this projected partnership comes to fruition.

A right decision for one of the country's most important projects. However, this decision may have been taken to convince Rolls-Royce, who did not accept technology transfer due to the Qatar partnership in BMC.

I have always defended cooperation with UK on that matter. They are more reliable than all our alternatives when it comes to the development of TFX including the propulsion system. I hope new deal is renegotiated with acceptable compromises from our side. We can gain much from cooperating with companies like BAE Systems and Rolls Royce. It would be valuable for both countries. Who knows maybe in the future Turkey may show interest also in TEMPEST procurement.
That is what I said not long ago: "I hope new deal is renegotiated with acceptable compromises from our side" . Looks like that compromise is reality now. We can now only wait and pray RR to be officially added into the list of shareholders and as a side working on the project. :)

As it is said in Turkish: Hayirli ugurlu olsun!
