Thanks to Aselsan.I will list what we have working on and what we have to underwater acustic systems and warfare.
1. Aktif sonoboy-there is no news about it,
2. Multistatik sonar software integration -meteksan and Tubitak -project BOSS
3. Anti torpedo hard kill-Aselsan Tork project
4.Passif sonoboy-Aselsan
5. LW torpedo-Roketsan Orka
6.Single crystal PZ sonar unit-Meteksan
7. SAR sonar-meteksan and tubitak are working
8. Digital underwater telephone-Tubitak working and Koç Defence will buy it.
9.Magnetic Anomaly detector-MAD no news
10. Quantum tech for MAD no news
11.Quantum cryptology for underwater telephone or modem-no news
12.Fiberoptic towed sonar for submarines-Meteksan
13.Fiberoptic flank array sonar-Meteksan
14.Ultra LW torpedo for UAV no news
15.Sub Atmaca-Roketsan
16.Sub Gezgin no news
17.Recovery vehicle for Mosship-no news
18.Fulmar project signed

This is so beautiful at all. Would you please write other projects we are waiting? I have been looking for such a nice list for a long time. :) It may be long a list but I guess it would be really important for everybody. I also think that it deserves a separate topic as well.

Aselsan unveils Türkiye’s 1st domestic anti-submarine sonar

Turkish defense industry firm Aselsan has developed Türkiye’s first indigenous over-the-horizon submarine defense warfare sonar, facilitating the detection of underwater threats over vast distances.

According to a statement released by the Turkish defense giant, the Low-Frequency Active Sonar System (DÜFAS), crafted in alignment with the requirements of the Turkish Naval Forces under the auspices of the Defense Industry Agency, emits acoustic signals via active sonar elements.

By measuring these signals from targets through passive sonar means, it enables the precise identification and tracking of submerged threats with extended reach and precision, effectively nullifying the menace posed by adversary submarines to the Turkish Navy.

This system additionally discerns threats such as torpedoes by monitoring ambient noise in passive sonar mode and triggers countermeasure mechanisms upon detecting a torpedo threat, thereby neutralizing the risk.

Defense Industry Agency (SSB) head Haluk Görgün hailed the system that was unveiled during the week of the 109th anniversary of the Çanakkale victory and “carried the spirit of the ancestors.”

“Düfas, an eminent product of Aselsan's engineering prowess, has been devised for the detection of underwater threats. Endowed with a 360-degree all-encompassing scanning capability, Düfas will augment the potency of our illustrious navy,” he said.

New 556 million $ deal with Turkish armed forces. Unlike last time, no info about specifics, not even which branch. I'm thinking it's radars.

"A contract with a value of USD 556.500.000,- regarding the supply of military equipment needed by the Turkish Armed Forces has been signed between ASELSAN and Republic of Türkiye Ministry of National Defence and has entered into force."

Aselsan's first airborne AESA radar made its first flight onboard an F-16 Özgür. I thought Akıncı would be its first flying host.

This radar and its iterations will fly aboard F-16s, Anka-3, Hürjet, Akıncı and KE.

Lots of folks need to update their AESA radar induction predictions.

Nice but i was thinking what will happen to existing f16 radars ? We cant just throw them in trash , any infro if they are modern and we can use them in platforms like akinci, aksungur or trainers hurjet or even in ground bases ?

MURAD was supposed to conduct its first flight on the F-16 in late Q2 (June 2024) so it is slightly ahead of the schedule but flying even before Akıncı is a surprise. BTW this is a real radar you can scan track targets etc. There were flights with dummy radars for mechanical integration tests.

any speculation on how long would the tests last without a dedicated testbed?

Aselsan expects a test campaign for 2 years but it really depends on whether Aselsan encounters any serious issues. Aselflir-500 tests went really smoothly and tests finished sooner than expected. This is also thanks to Baykar providing a lot of sorties. Aselsan wants to deliver the first radar of KAAN in 2026. It will be the scaled-up and upgraded version of MURAD. Lessons learned from MURAD tests will also be incorporated into the radar of KAAN.

I wonder if the Murad can be tested on one of the Kaan prototypes skipping a makeshift test-bed plane altogether. Probably a little low on the power supply but isn't there an APU already.

Electrical generators are not integral to the engines, they are equipped/installed on to them. F-16 got at least 3 generator revisions for example.

Long story short. KAAN has 2 120kVA generators
I still find such a huge jump to be a bit significant, do you have any source about that you can share?

Though I know F135 does have twin 80 kVA
