We don't have nuclear propulsion technology as of now and it is nit a prority asset for Türkiye. Howver when and if we have a clean reactor technology we may very well make use of it.
"nuclear propulsion" means nuclear-generated electric propulsion. and electric propulsion is something we certainly have.

Do we have nuclear carrier and submarine plans for the future?I couldn't find any source on local news sites.

But this

And this link on SMR Rectors within IAEA(International Atomic Energy Agency) WEB site
What are Small Modular Reactors (SMRs)?

And this link on Nuclear-Powered Ships
1. Start project with Russians.
2. Get screwed by Russians.
3. ???
4. Continue as before.

Wouldn’t touch Russia with a 10 foot pole for a quite a while if you don’t want to be dumped into the cesspool with them and this includes gas hub deal

Baykar has updated their Employee count.
It seems astonishing how quick they are growing but also likely expected with the amount of workload.

09/2021
Baykar CEO: " 1500 Employees"

04/2022
Employee Count "2300 Employees"

View attachment 43181

Which implies an increase of 800 Employees in ca. 8 Months.
That would be approximately a calculated yearly increase of 1200 Employees.

Compare that to Giants like

TAI: 1000 people in 2020, 2000 people in 2021, 2 thousand in 2022.
ASELSAN: 1500 people in 2021, 1500 people in 2022

These are huge Corporations with several Facilities.
The growth implies much bigger things since the Company wasn't too big to begin with.

Additional Info.

This Year they Finished the Expansion of their 1. Facility with R&D Center to offload some workforce from the overcrowded Factory.
The Presidential Decree mentioned in the quoted Post indented for an increase of 1122 Employees.
That has likely happened with completion of the first expansion.

View attachment 43182 View attachment 43183 View attachment 43184

There is still an Investment yet to be realized.
Presidential Decree from 29.04.2021
> Additional Land has been given to Baykar Technologies but there isn't any information what purpose it is going to serve because the 2nd Stage isn't finished yet.

Satellite Images impliy Construction has been started recently.

There Growth will likely increase with a new state of the art Factory.

Its time to look at Baykar Defence numbers again.

Baykar announces in 11/2022

The last update:

04/2022
Employee Count "2300 Employees"

Which implies an increase of 800 Employees in ca. 7 Months.
That would be approximately a calculated yearly increase of 1370 Employees.

> The Update implies that the previous post was about right and Baykar seems to be going for 1200+ New Employees per Year for the time being.

Baykar is International as well:
"We already host a number of international personnel from 4 different continents and nearly a dozen countries."

Keep in Mind that the new 3rd Expansion of Baykar isn't realized yet. The 4th Expansion will likely be in Ukraine near Kiev.

The 3rd Expansion is going slowly as far as I can tell.

The Satellite Pictures are from 05/2022 and 11/2022 Respectively.

I found an Interesting Blogpost. Somebody has been looking very deep into Baykar.
A nice read.

Kesan.

Current Disposition

Baykar operations encompass the entire area of Keşan Military Airport, which contains the Keşan Flight Training and Test Center. The airport is surrounded by open fields and has no security fence, although the main hangar building is fenced. The site is approximately 144km from Çorlu along the E84 highway and 207km from Esenyurt along the E84 and E80 highways.

Operational Capacity

Keşan likely has the ability to store approximately 30 TB2 UCAVs in five hangars (see estimates below). One or two TB2 UCAVs have been visible in nine out of 16 satellite imagery captures of the airfield from 17 Feb 2017 to 05 Oct 2021, suggesting steady rotation of aircraft in and out of the hangars, with aircraft emerging shortly before they fly and returning afterwards.

Future Activity

More enlargement of existing site infrastructure is highly likely over the next two years, considering estimated increases in TB2 production. This may include additional support buildings and enlargement of the apron. Any construction on the eastern side of the airfield is likely to come at the expense of the remaining military structures there.

This site is likely to host the Bayraktar TB3 UCAV, an advanced and heavier derivative of the Bayraktar TB2, for flight testing and possibly training operations. Baykar plans for this UCAV to make its first flight in late 2022. Keşan is logically preferable as a TB3 host to the other Baykar test site, Çorlu, because of its existing association with the similar TB2 program. Baykar-owned TB2 testbed “T-PT1” and several serial production TB2s underwent intensive testing at the site during 2022; this included touch-and-go landings common in carrier operations. The additional 250m of runway length added between 25 Sep 2020 and 04 Dec 2020 was likely planned in expectation of the TB3 as well. This UCAV has a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of 1450kg, over twice the 700kg MTOW of the TB2, and logically will require additional space to become airborne.

1668102433668.png
1668102372968.png

1668102496109.png

Corlu

Operational Capacity

The three hangars within Çorlu Flight Training and Test Center can likely accommodate five to seven Akıncı UCAVs at once. If additional space is required, Baykar has been known to use the northern military apron as a parking area. Seven Akıncı were seen there in July 2022 for an “elephant walk” photoshoot. A pre-existing hangar on this apron can likely also host aircraft. No TB2 UCAVs have yet been identified in satellite imagery of Çorlu.

Both Akıncı and TB2 GCS trailers are visible in satellite imagery of the site. On 16 Nov 2020 and 05 Dec 2020, a single Akıncı GCS trailer and two TB2 trailers were visible. On 25 Mar 2021, the number of TB2 GCS trailers increased to four and a Sinus motor glider was seen parked in the open for the first time. The latter aircraft appeared in the next two consecutive captures as well. On 09 Feb 2022, one Akıncı, two Akıncı GCS, and two TB2 GCS (possibly four) were visible. While this possibly indicates a rising operational tempo, more observations would be needed to determine a clear pattern.

Future Activity

Additional enlargement of the existing infrastructure at Çorlu is likely over the next two years, considering estimated increases in both Akıncı and TB2 production (see Production section in Part II). This may include additional support buildings and new apron space within the Çorlu Flight Training and Test Center. It is also possible that new facilities will be constructed along the military apron. Any construction at either location is likely to take place on land associated with the Gen. Faruk Gürler Barracks.

This site is likely to host the Bayraktar Kızılelma UCAV when it begins flight tests in 2023. Keşan, the only other Baykar-operated test facility, is unlikely to have adequate runway length for this aircraft. The known MTOW of the Kızılelma is 6 tons (5,443kg), significantly higher than the TB2 (700kg) but less than the Akinci (6,000kg), which already operates from Çorlu. Additionally, the Kızılelma will be powered by a turbofan engine, necessitating on-site jet fuel storage. Çorlu possesses a POL farm with jet fuel storage tanks while Keşan does not.

1668102907555.png

1668103131774.png

1668103176303.png

Future Activity

  • Three new buildings were visibly under construction at the original Baykar-owned property in Esenyurt in imagery dated 17 Jul 2022. All are likely to be completed in the next one to two years.
    • A building with a foundation footprint measuring approximately 14,600m2. This is the most recent building to begin construction, between imagery dated 14 Jan 2022 and 20 May 2022, and the only one to remain unidentified. It is likely a third factory building. Haluk Bayraktar cited plans to create additional production space in Esenyurt on 29 Jan 2021, following the construction of the main and second factory buildings.
    • The Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center.
    • A probable multistory parking garage.
  • Construction had not yet begun at the more recently acquired property. However, the appearance of construction hardstands, storage containers, and vehicles suggests that it is imminent.
  • It is likely that, with the completion of additional parking space, the test track will undergo more use in its intended purpose. Initially unobstructed, observations on 03 Aug 2021, 14 Jan 2022, and 25 Jun 2022 indicated that it was being used as a carpark, likely to add employee parking capacity before more permanent facilities were built. Other areas to the east of the main factory and around the periphery of the second factory may also be cleared, enabling them to be devoted solely to open storage of material components, waste materials, and finished products.
  • It is likely that the entrance to the Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center, which borders the Hadımköy-Hoşdere road from the east side of the land parcel, will become the new main entrance to the campus. Architectural renditions indicate that this entrance will branch into two access roads, one for staff and the other for visitors. Heavy delivery vehicles will likely continue to use the current southern entrance, as this provides better access to the factory buildings within the campus.
  • On 17 Jul 2022, all of the land on the original Esenyurt land parcel had either already been developed or was the site of active construction. Any new buildings will likely need to be built on the second property. Whether this area will host additional factory buildings, administrative buildings, or other structures is unclear.

Nurol Teknoloji at IDEAS`22 with High-Tech Solutions

NUROL TEKNOLOJİ exhibits its personal and vehicle ballistic protection solutions with different protection levels and weights, manufactured from advanced ballistic ceramics such as Alumina (Aluminum Carbide), Silicon Carbide, and Boron Carbide (all provide the same protection level but have varying costs) at its booth at the IDEAS` 22.

November 16, 2022

Nurol%20Teknoloji%20_Muhsin%20Dere(1).jpg

Nurol Teknoloji participated in the IDEAS 2022 Defense Fair to be held in Karachi, Pakistan between 15-18 November, with advanced technological ballistics such as Alumina (Alumina), Silicon Carbide (Silicon Carbide) and Boron Carbide (Boron Carbide), which have the same protection levels but different costs. Personal ballistic protection and vehicle platforms made of ceramics with different protection levels and weights are exhibiting their ballistic protection solutions in their booth, IDEAS'2022.
Nurol%20Teknoloji_Pakistan.jpeg

NUROL TEKNOLOJİ, a Nurol Holding company, was established in 2008 to produce advanced ballistic ceramics with 100% domestic capital. NUROL TEKNOLOJİ designs and delivers personal and structural ballistic protection solutions with "National" and "Domestic" facilities. The company manufactures advanced ballistic ceramics and hybrid ballistic protective armor solutions such as Alumina, Silicon Carbide, and Boron Carbide for all friendly and allied countries, especially the Turkish Security Forces, under one roof in three production facilities located in Ankara. As the only advanced ceramics manufacturer in Turkey, the company has invested more than $130million USD in the past 14 years to reach this level and continues to invest in this field. NUROL TEKNOLOJİ, which can produce hybrid ballistic solutions for its domestic and foreign customers, can manufacture and test all types of personal, vehicle, and structural ballistic protection products according to all international requirements and standards, with its special recipes and capabilities. In this context, it can successfully perform the relevant tests at the internationally accepted ballistic protection levels NIJ 0101.04, NIJ 0101.06, NIJ 0115.00, NIJ 0108.01, TS EN 1063, TS EN 1522, STANAG 2920, STANAG 4569 and MIL PRF46103.
The combat-proven personal ballistic protection solutions of NUROL TEKNOLOJİ were successfully used by a great numbers of countries security forces and are still being used successfully in Ukraine and are saving lives.
NUROL_TEKNOLOJI_SERAMIKLER(2).JPG

The most expensive and lightest ceramic armor plates produced by NUROL TEKNOLOJİ are made of Boron Carbide material, while the cheapest and heaviest are made of Alumina. For example, even though they all provide the same protection level, a bulletproof NIJ Level 4 vest plate made of Boron Carbide weighs 2.5kg, Silicon Carbide weighs 3kg, and Alumina weighs 3.5kg. Therefore, while Boron Carbide armor plate is preferred in personal protection and air vehicle platforms, Silicon Carbide or Alumina plates are used in vehicle armoring depending on end-user requirements.
NUROL TEKNOLOJİ official noted that there is a ceramic armor plate on the front and an additional soft insert made of white Polyethylene material behind it, which holds the fragmented pieces of the ceramic plate. The bullet that hits the ceramic armor plate, which does not have ballistic protection on its own, breaks and causes shrapnel that can harm the person wearing the vest. The Polyethylene lining holds the shrapnel and prevents damage to the human body. This way, the NIJ-IV standard ballistic armor plate can stop a .30 caliber M2AP round at 880m/s (thanks to its velocity, this bullet can be penetrated through several people lined up in a row). NUROL TEKNOLOJİ can manufacture advanced ballistic ceramic armor plates such as Alumina, Silicon Carbide, and Boron Carbide.
While the NIJ-IV standard bulletproof armor plate, which can withstand a single 7.62x63 M2AP bullet, is 2.300gr, the armor plate designed to withstand 3 shots is 2.500gr. Each vest has one armor plate at the front and back and one side armor plate on each side for the liver. Therefore, the NIJ-IV standard for a bulletproof vest has a total weight of 7 kg, 2x2.5kg + 1kg + 1kg and it ensures full ballistic protection. NUROL TEKNOLOJİ has continues its R&D studies to reduce the weight of the ceramic armor plate even more in the R&D Center accredited by the Turkish Industry & Technology Ministry.
The ballistic vests delivered to the Turkish Special Forces have side armor plates. Using ceramic armor weighing 2.350gr-2.500gr, the NIJ-IV standard bulletproof (30 caliber M2 Rifle) vest can provide ballistic protection equivalent to a 7.5kg steel plate.
NUROL%20TEKNOLOJI_PLAKA_2(1).JPG

NUROL TEKNOLOJİ has also developed the NIJ-VI standard ballistic shield that can withstand 7.62x63 M2AP bullets. The company also offers ceramic-composite ballistic armored shield models that can withstand soft-point and 7.62x51mm armor-piercing (AP) rounds. Developed by NUROL TEKNOLOJİ for bases, checkpoints, and security missions, the portable Modular Bunker (MODKOR) was delivered to the General Directorate of Security (Turkish Police) in the past months, and its tests are continuing. It will also be delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command for testing purposes.
NUROL%20TEKNOLOJI_STANAG_SEVIYELER(1).JPG

NUROL TEKNOLOJİ provides STANAG 4569 Level 2 (7.62x39mm API), 3 (7.62x51mm AP), 4 (14.5x114mm AP), and 5 (25mm APDS-T) ceramic armor solutions for land vehicles. NUROL TEKNOLOJİ is making deliveries for the FNSS Marine Assault Vehicle (ZAHA) and PARS III 6x6 APC and YÖRÜK 4x4 Armored Vehicles. The company is also increasing the protection levels of tactical armored vehicles from B6 to B7 and B7+ levels as part of a project they have been carrying out with the H.I.T. company in Pakistan for a while. The project also covers training services for local personnel; thus, composite/ceramic armor panels manufactured in NUROL TEKNOLOJİ facilities are mounted on vehicles in Pakistan. As part of the armoring project, vehicle suspensions are also being changed.

Do we know why? What could this mean?
Let's hope it is a simple bureaucratic cause related to taxes and mismanagement - fraud in financial reports of the company.
In other options it gets worse as in fraud in tests & demonstrations, relabeling imported products as "local" to get tax discounts, etc

Mr Varank is encouraging Koç Group for Chip production facility investment:

"As important and valuable as inverter compressors are, an equally important and valuable investment should actually be made in Turkey. What are these? Microchips.
I know how much chips Arçelik consumes. Besides Arçelik, I know how much chips Koç Group consumes in the automotive industry. I think it suits Arçelik to invest in a chip. Let's work together and give the support we can. Let's bring the chip investment to our country together with Arçelik.
You know, there are two important issues in chips. One is the design side. Here you need to develop your human skills a lot. Turkey has this infrastructure but at the same time, we saw how strategic it is to have talents on the production side.

I say to Arçelik again: This investment is worthy. It would be quite feasible. In any case, everything should not be done with the idea of making maximum profit. Hopefully, let's make this chip investment together."

Chip is very important thing. All weapons today are actually robots. Regardless of the tasks of robots, they have 3 things in common. 1 - Power Packs, 2 - Sensors and 3 - Processors. We have made progress on the power packs and sensors with a lot of effort. But if we fail on the processor, everything will be fucked up in the national defense industry.

I hope the Koç Group will not show its lack of foresight on TOGG here and take the responsibility. Otherwise, I will give credit to RTE about Koç Group!
