This is wrong it is not sea level rise. The city moved 3-4 meters towards the sea.

Isn‘t the Turkish military mobilized for the disaster areas? Why, bad blood between Erdogan administration and TSK?

Erdoğan has tried to tame TSK. He has done all he can to take power away from TSK such as removing Jandarma from TSK to internal affairs ministry's control. Also let's not forget that he sided with FETÖ and arrested top military staff. This mistake eventually lead to the coup attempt which could have led to Gülen becoming a Türkiye's Ayatollah.

He heavily distrusts the military. He only sees the military as a way to gain votes with operations. Otherwise YPG would have been finished long ago.

Essentially he thinks that if 100k troops get deployed to help out:

1. TSK will once again become the most respected and prestigious organisation in Türkiye. Not good for his image as top dog.
2. He will lose his tight grip on everything
3. If enough anger is generated there could be a soft coup

I can sadly say that thousands probably already perished because TSK wasn't deployed en masse.

I can't talk for other cities but Malatya has been effectively abandoned by its citizens.

The city is basically empty. Only helpers and volunteers are in the streets.

I don't know about other areas but there are a lot of soldiers in Malatya patrolling and aiding AFAD.

In Elbistan, where my aunt and her family is living, people are getting help. They have delivered truckloads of foods and water but it's still freezing cold.

It seems like things are moving in the right direction, at least in our part of the region. Needles to say that thousands are still under the rubble fighting for their lives.

But Hatay is effectivelly screwed; the city was isolated for so long that all factors of chaos starting running rampant; and Erdogan failed to control it when the connection was restored to the city

I dont believe that in this terrible earthquake some post agaist Turkish goverment . Someone calling soldiers to go to rubbles and ( DO WHAT? )
The army is for WAR not to get people out of rubbles .
Soldiers can go and send equipment , food , and open tents for survives but people under rubble need experts that are trained with special equipment to cut concrete and pick them out . People (soldiers or civilians) should not try to get them out cos they can cause more demage , even syrian white helmets cause collapse to building killing 4 of them .
Turkiye is very well prepared for this monster earthquake ,AFAD is the best that Turkiye did .
Every other europian nation that will face this kind of disaster will be not prepared as Turkiye . Only Japan can compare to Turkiye .

Think abou Syria , No AFAD with thousends of containers and tents, no ambulances,no helicopters ,no heavy cranes , Conutry is apart in two , more poor and in civil war . Even the real victims number are unknow and is around 2000- 3000 . Some of u stop crying screaming anti goverment . Goverment is not GOD of course some areas the help come so.e late but still come . During Albania earthquake , alot smaller and i small area , There were even no dogs to smell location of people .

Yet AFAD isn't accepting jackets because they have beer brand logos on them. I have no words. Not even going to say what I was going to say.

I thought of that too. But I have asked many experienced civil engineers; Their explanation was to do with the water receding in the long run. Iskenderun sits on sand and there is water underneath. When you dig a metre water comes out. Building is difficult as this water has to be continuously drained. The movement of the plates pushed the land increasing ground water level. But should dissipate over time. It does over lap with your theory of movement of the land mass by 3-4 metres.

The 2. Army got deployed after 12 hours and cities like Antakya (400k residents) couldnt be reached in the first day due to damaged road infrastructures.
The military has tonns of helicopter at disposal but they were still waiting for orders from higher ups.
The coup attempt left a trauma in the government, they dont like seeing military in cities.

TSK has more than enough to handle both situations simultaniously, this reasonning is frankly ridiculous.
Besides why would TSK need that many transport helicopters against pkk?
