You are late. I even sharedAzerbaijan will sign a partnership deal to join Kaan project.
Azerbaijan's technical or economic contribution to the project will be limited.I don't expect the number of purchases to be high either. But I wouldn't be that happy if there was news that a gulf country would buy 120 Kaan.I am very happy for both our countries.
Turkey and Azerbaijan decided to cooperate for the development of the National Combat Aircraft KAAN!
The official agreement will be signed tomorrow as part of IDEF'23.
Azerbaijan is a net energy exporter country. Moreover, they set up the defense budget in dollars. This will be the lifeline for the KAAN project. Also, Azerbaijan has great potential in basic sciences. In the past, agreements were signed with TAI to develop cooperation and joint R&D. Now is the time to reap the fruits of those agreements.Azerbaijan's technical or economic contribution to the project will be limited.I don't expect the number of purchases to be high either. But I wouldn't be that happy if there was news that a gulf country would buy 120 Kaan.I am very happy for both our countries.
Even if Azerbaijan is a net energy exporter, They have a GDP around $55 billion. That sounds like a low number for their population.Azerbaijan is a net energy exporter country. Moreover, they set up the defense budget in dollars. This will be the lifeline for the KAAN project.
I read somethings about certain cooperation with Kazakhstan on the defence topics in the past. But I don't know much about Azerbaijan's technical capabilities or our defence companies cooperation in Azerbaijan , so it would be better for me not to comment too much on that. Also, Azerbaijan has great potential in basic sciences. Listen about RAM paint and about the numbers of employee who works for KAAN.
Yes you did hear it good, first delivery will be 2028 20 Kaan block10.
The number of jets are not import in that matter. We want to build net-centric aviation system across all Turkic states.Azerbaijan's technical or economic contribution to the project will be limited.I don't expect the number of purchases to be high either. But I wouldn't be that happy if there was news that a gulf country would buy 120 Kaan.I am very happy for both our countries.
Yeah idk where Sequ found this from but seems like this was from a project where multiple foreign companies were involvedExcellent result, but I am little surprised by the lack secrecy.
Afaik, these kind of results are usually not revealed in open sources.

It is the competition result of a NATO project. Aselsan outperformed those 3 companies. It is not really that secret.
Great news.

But they have enough cash to contribute to the program which in itself is a lot, such a program is not cheap after all.Azerbaijan's technical or economic contribution to the project will be limited.I don't expect the number of purchases to be high either. But I wouldn't be that happy if there was news that a gulf country would buy 120 Kaan.I am very happy for both our countries.
Azerbaijans main contribution will be financial. I'm sure there will be some ToT and maybe part production in the future but in the beginning it will most likely just stay at financial support. All of this is not surpising though. With Azerbaijan unwinding itself from Russia its options have been limited to refresh its Air Force. I always expected them to be the first customer for Kaan with Turkish engines I'm sure they will also show interest in Hürjet with an indigenous engine if it ever happens. I rather have our brothers and sisters as a partner even if their help is limited mainly to money then let gulf states into the project. But they have enough cash to contribute to the program which in itself is a lot, such a program is not cheap after all.
