What is hisar a's range?
- HISAR-A+: The launching station is the same as the HISAR-A, but it uses an improved missile able to destroy aerial targets at a range of 15 km and an altitude of 8 km with 366° engagement capability. The system can strike six targets at a time. It integrates state-of-the-art technology with open hardware and software (HW/SW) architecture for using future technology.

From İbrahim Sünnetçi's interview with Aselsan CEO Akyol:

"We put GÖKDENİZ into inventory last year in the field of air defense. Now the 4th export contract has been signed, the 4th country. You can also see it here. We have now patented the members of the family in air defence as 'Skydome' GÖKKUBBE and brought them into a concept. And it is a holistic solution with command control, T-Link and radars in the middle. We are taking firm steps towards the future."

More than likely just a twin 35mm turret like Korkut's without AKR radar as it's part of a system. You can actually see the AKR right behind it on a different pedestal.

The problem are not names but the quantity of those weapon systems .
In case of massive war , What Turkiye will do ? Those small factories will blow up at first day of war

These are massive systems, each battery costs somewhere between 40-200 million dollars. They can't be built over a month.

Current projection is 11 "batteries" of Hisar and Siper to be delivered to MSB by 2029.

I mean, if you consider the potential air defence need of TSK, then it is not sufficient. Having lesser numbers of AMD assets cannot be compensated in any other way. For example, Poles know this.

Poles have open credit lines, a strong economy and allies don't embargo more than half of the stuff they want to buy. We've asked for SAMP-T for more than a decade at this point.

It's a big country, we will never have enough air defence assets to cover it and our commitments elsewhere. 11 is a start, as we currently have no modern AMD assets but for 1-3 Hisar batteries, 10-14 Korkut batteries and 3-5 modernized GDF guns. Actual needs are probably 6 times these, at least.

And enough missile production capacity.

Do we have any idea roughly how many Hisar missiles are we producing per month or year? Does Hisar missile production have been affected from long waiting times for sub-components etc?

The First Official Statement on Steel Dome: Here Are Its Features

1723034490182.png

President of Defense Industry, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, made significant statements about the Steel Dome Project. Görgün touched on the details of the Steel Dome.

In the statement made by Prof. Dr. Görgün regarding the matter, he said: “Yesterday, under the chairmanship of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we held our Defense Industry Executive Committee meeting. During the meeting, we made important assessments regarding the current level of the Turkish defense industry, its future goals, and critical projects.

We decided on 56 projects aimed at meeting the needs of our Turkish Armed Forces, General Directorate of Security, and General Command of Gendarmerie. We made decisions on topics such as kamikaze unmanned sea vehicles, kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles, long-range missile systems, and air defense systems.

One of the important decisions made, undoubtedly, was the development of the STEEL DOME, which we will develop as a 'system of systems.'

'Our National and Indigenous Project: STEEL DOME'

- It will ensure the integrated operation of all our sensors and weapons under a network structure with our layered air defense systems,
- The creation of a common air picture,
- The real-time delivery of this picture to operational centers, and
- The presentation of this information to decision-makers with the support of artificial intelligence.

The STEEL DOME project will be carried out with the joint efforts of our companies ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TÜBİTAK SAGE, and MKE.

I hope the project will be beneficial and auspicious for our country and nation.

As the Turkish Defense Industry, with the support of our nation and state, we will continue our work with even greater determination and perseverance in the coming period, and we will carry out our activities using national and indigenous technologies with increasing determination and perseverance, becoming the 'Strengthening Star of a Rising Turkey.'

Türkiye starts works for integrated air defense system Steel Dome

Türkiye has decided to launch works to develop an integrated multilayered air defense system called the Steel Dome.

The decision was taken at the Defense Industry Executive Committee meeting on Aug. 6 under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and with the participation of senior civilian and military officials.

A statement after the meeting underlined that the committee discussed ongoing and future top projects in the light of the achievements in the field of defense industry.

“Assessments were made of the level achieved by Türkiye’s defense industry, future goals and critical projects,” the country’s Communications Directorate said on X. “The commitment to supporting the domestic and national defense industry was underlined,” it added.

During the meeting, the Steel Dome Project was discussed, which focuses on integrating layered air defense systems, sensors and weapons into a network, providing a common air picture in real time and using artificial intelligence to assist decision-makers.

Türkiye has developed a number of indigenous air defense systems in recent years and is planning to combine all these systems under the Steel Dome, which will provide the protection of Türkiye’s entire air space.

The meeting also discussed projects for air defense and missile systems, Türkiye’s homegrown fighter jet Kaan, UAVs (drones) Bayraktar TB3, Akinci and Aksungur, and various unmanned aerial and maritime vehicles.

Turkish UAVs have gained fame in such conflicts as Ukraine and won contracts from countries around the world. A growing percentage of weapons and vehicles used by the Turkish Armed Forces are also made domestically.

“The meeting also addressed projects for enhancing the country's space access capabilities, systems for improving situational awareness on land, air and sea, electronic warfare systems, and defense systems against mini/micro UAVs and swarm-capable kamikaze unmanned maritime vehicles,” it added.

Projects for modernizing tanks and fighter jets, developing engines and power systems for vehicles, and procuring command, control and communication systems were also discussed during the meeting, it added.

Highlighting satisfaction with the progress in Türkiye’s defense industry, the meeting underlined the need to continue with increased determination using domestic technologies.

I agree, they should have just given it a technical name and let time be a deciding factor a name, if it's good then it'll earn a nickname, if it does bad then a bad nickname.
