Probably Russia related issue. Many other aircraft producers had similar problems. And titanium production in this scales are something out of reach of countries that of Turkey's levels. It requires investments bigly. Russia uses the capacity that they inherited from the USSR.

It's mentioned that the delays are due to supply chain disruptions regarding the titanium parts. Probably it's the same reason for Temel Kotil's departure concerning the falsified authenticity documentation that originated from a metals supplier in China which were used in Airbus and Boeing parts also. Still not clear though where the problem lies, with Italian firm Titanium International Group, with Spirit, TUSAŞ or with the Chinese Baoji Titanium Industry?!

According to Tolga Özbek’s YouTube message (after 27.05 min), NewYork Times erroneously claimed that Tusas has been supplying fraudulently-certified titanium parts.

According to this news piece, it was Infact Tusas that found the problem.
Italians buy the titanium. Then having worked on it, they pass it on to Tusas to make the necessary parts. Tusas then sends the manufactured parts to Spirit Aerospace who forward it to Boeing.

During manufacturing, Tusas finds that the titanium parts are not as before and alerts the Italians. They warn the Spirit Aerospace and Boeing and Airbus are alerted.

If this is the case, Tusas should ask New York Times for a retraction for erroneous news as it would damage Tusas’s good name.

Looking at KFX and recent acquisitions of Indonesia, they clearly have severe mismanagement and have no idea what they are doing. I doubt they would fulfill their partnership responsibilities if involved.

Indeed. Involving Indonesia has created problems for the KFX project. What would make Turkiye think things would be different if Indonesia was involved with KAAN?

Turkiye had once made an offer to the Indonesia for Aksungur UCAV, saying "let's develop this together". They did not accept this. Then they saw that Aksungur UCAV was a quality product and also suitable for their needs, they paid cash and supplied it. What I mean is that we should not include Indonesia in the development phase. They have a trust problem. If Kaan fighter becomes a quality product, they will buy it with cash, like Aksungur UCAV.

Maybe unpopular opinion here, but i think that there won't be any cooperation (except the one with Azerbaijan) until Türkiye starts testing KAAN's domestic and national engine. Because look at the ATAK export to Pakistan. One embargo from USA and your money is in the trash bin.

What is there to cooperate about? KAAN's airframe design must be nearing completion. Indonesia can buy it when it is ready if it wants to. Makes me wonder what partnership in KF-21 achieved.

Tusas had opened a similar office in Malaysia when it was offering Hurjet to the Malaysian government. Some media centres are probably drawing similarities with the opening of this new office.
It has to be remembered that, Indonesia is already a participating partner - even if it is on paper only- in the KF21 Boramae project. Turkey has far too good a relation with SKorea to jeopardise it. I can’t see Indonesia leaving the KF21 programme.

It is called chips, semiconductors, FPGAs, name it. We desperately need those. Indonesia and particularly Malaysia are vital for us.

I expect Indonesia to lower the priority of the KF-21 program and join the Turkish MMU/TF-X program. Indonesian authorities have been unhappy with the program for a while and Indonesia gives more and more contracts and importance to Turkish defense companies. I expect a MOU to be signed at IDEF 2025.

We will probably see a mock-up of the national engine for KAAN and KAAN GTU-1 prototype at IDEF 2025. IMHO this is the last step before someone can be a partner of the project and enjoy benefits. After that, I don't think anyone can be more than a customer. Of course a customer can also be part of the project but a partner is inherently different. In late 2026 we will see the KAAN GTU-1 prototype in an advanced configuration with KARAT IRST, Toygun EOTS, Murad-600A AESA radar(as part of BURFIS RF suite), Yıldırım-300 DIRCM, IRIS-300 DAS installed on the fighter.

Within the scope of the Signing Ceremony held in Indonesia; ASELSAN signed strategic agreements regarding the SARP Remote Controlled Stabilized Weapon System, CENK 4D Search Radar, Artillery Fire Control System and Missile Data Link, and ROKETSAN signed strategic agreements regarding the SUNGUR Air Defense Missile System, ÇAKIR Cruise Missile and MAM-L Mini Smart Munition.

It depends. We can buy directly from manufacturers right now but in a conflict, who knows? One thing is certain, we want independence but no country cant stand alone much longer. We need allies, best way to do is high profile defence agreements. Besides, we have what they dont have, they have what we dont have. None of our interests conflict with theirs. Collaboration with Indonesia and Malaysia is very important and necessary.

Btw not engines, certainly not sensors but semiconductor industry is our real weakness now, both in civilian and military applications and I believe it should be discussed more.
