Any reason Turkiye cannot buy them from the producers? It is called chips, semiconductors, FPGAs, name it. We desperately need those. Indonesia and particularly Malaysia are vital for us.

It depends. We can buy directly from manufacturers right now but in a conflict, who knows? One thing is certain, we want independence but no country cant stand alone much longer. We need allies, best way to do is high profile defence agreements. Besides, we have what they dont have, they have what we dont have. None of our interests conflict with theirs. Collaboration with Indonesia and Malaysia is very important and necessary.Any reason Turkiye cannot buy them from the producers?
What is a 'partner' in your view? Is it a country interested in investing in KAAN production? Are there any countries with the technology needed to contribute to further KAAN development?
The project was initially designed with Indonesia funding 20 percent of the 8.1 trillion won total cost, in exchange for technology transfer and participation in the production process. It's not the first time Indonesia has been linked to the KAAN. It will be healthy for Turkiye to get partners on board the KAAN program. The critical stages of the project have been accomplished, or are near completion. However, as we know the leverage and the offers that Turkiye made at the beginning of the program are not available today. Hopefully, there are still opportunities that can be discussed and offered just like the F-35 program. Do we know what South Korea offered to Indonesia as a participant in the KF-21 program?

Algeria must be a customer, too.Apparently KAAN is very high on the agenda for Egypt during Sisi's visit.
When the KAAN is ready, they will line up.Development and mass production are two very different things. We might be at later stages of development, but for mass production and spreading the costs we still need partners.
What‘s the use of this ridiculous comparison of 4.5 gen LO fighter jet KF-21 with 5th gen VLO fighter jet designs? Other than propaganda and bragging purposes?Rough comparison of Kaan, KF-21 and F-35

I don't like this guy's aggressive mentality when discussing these issues. He’s always in a fight on Twitter, arguing with everyone and trying to prove the supremacy of his identity by comparing cherry-picked stats.Rough comparison of Kaan, KF-21 and F-35
All EO systems will be present on the first aircraft delivered. Apart from the national turbofan, all stats are inline with what the first Blok 10s will haveI don't like this guy's aggressive mentality when discussing these issues. For one example we probably won’t see the Kaan using DIRCMs until the mid-2030s. Meanwhile, the KF-21 and F-35 won’t remain in their current configurations until then. That’s just one aspect, along with the very accurate comment from @Chocopie.
This TR Tech guy is bad. Sometimes he even openly lies. Not credible enough for this forum.

True. Block 10 will include all of those listed above plus 20 dB class stealth coating, basic MUM-T capability, and sensor fusion. All EO systems will be present on the first aircraft delivered. Apart from the national turbofan, all stats are inline with what the first Blok 10s will have

It took nearly 20 years for the F-35, from its first introduction to service in the USAF, to reach the operational capability that was promoted in before 2006, with Block 4 implemented today. TAI's new president speaks differently about the hyped and unrealistic claims of his predecessor. DIRCM was one blunt example. What I mean is that by the time the Kaan is predicted to reach a good level of operational capability, the F-35 and KF-21 won't be in the same place they are today.Yıldırım-100 DIRCM already attended a NATO exercise. Technology in the late 90s and early 2000s are inherently different compared to today's technology. Newcomers don't need 2,5 decades to develop and mature a 5th gen fighter. It took nearly 20 years for the F-35, from its first introduction to service in the USAF, to reach the operational capability that was promoted in before 2006, with Block 4 implemented today.
