even recent conflict today tank to tank battle is little to none, the main function of MBT is to breakthrough enemy defense accompany by mobile infantry, again MOBILE INFANTRY. this stuff already here for ages, but no one bats an eye.

You forgot about air support - no air support (respectively air-superiority) NO Blitzkrieg. This is actually Russia's present problem and has been since the 70's.

ahh, I forgot this, that Stukas with their bombs and freckin 37mm cannon are scary hell to disable tanks and to keep adversaries duck down. today we can have it in air cavalry mode.

Without knowing the full extent of that 'leak', while I do see the the purpose of having at least one MBT division in each Indonesian major islands, it's hard to really understand why we should acquire MBTs from another country.

While we're at it, how about prioritizing to expand Pindad's production facility and finalize a contract to acquire a large number of Harimau so they can make more of it in the shortest amount of time instead? I think a 4:1 ratio of modern medium tank to MBT will be ideal for us.

Umm, an AP round from that gun may be able to penetrate the top part of most of today's MBTs if it fired from the air but it won't achieve the same success from the ground level. Of course it still can cause considerable damage, but if it's truly that effective when mounted on a tank chassis, it will already been mass-produced.

well, its once started as a Air Defence, but rendered obsolete by the massive development by Ground to Air Missile.

if you put an AP into that stuff, even the T90 will suffer enough damage to make it unable to move.

I also think that MT should become priority, unless there is some cuci gudang for seken MBT, cheap but still good.

If there is some unused budget we can use it to get SPH, MLRS, attack helicopter.

Depends on what MBTs that are being 'cuci gudang-ed' of course.

For example, in case the Russian offered us some of their T-90s, even without the ongoing Russo-Ukraine conflict I still don't think that it will be a good choice.

However, given the current situation in the West, and that Western European countries are starting to ramp up their militaries, there won't be much chance for another Leo 2 garage sale if ever.
