Are we in a dire need of MBT? Are we facing a serious threats against MBT?
I think that any potential enemy armored vehicles mostly will be consisted of lighter armored one, and MBT will be in a small number.
Oh yes. Angry birds momentMy favorite is that one video captured by Chinese tv station. 10/10 glorious.
They just changed the number
we aren't in Kharkov or Gulf warfare anymore, and please forgot the tank to tank battle. Are we facing a serious threats against MBT?
If this tank existed, say good bye to all soviet armor.not just T72, even the mighty T90 all variants became jokes when facing modern ATGM
You forgot about air support - no air support (respectively air-superiority) NO Blitzkrieg. This is actually Russia's present problem and has been since the 70's.we aren't in Kharkov or Gulf warfare anymore, and please forgot the tank to tank battle.
even recent conflict today tank to tank battle is little to none, the main function of MBT is to breakthrough enemy defense accompany by mobile infantry, again MOBILE INFANTRY. this stuff already here for ages, but no one bats an eye.

why such Russia failed to gain big territory from Ukraine it just because they didn't learn from German what is Blizkrieg Is.
but, as you can see while ID Army train with Leopard they also Spam Infantry to protect tanks (I think its since Infantry are less expensive than the tank wkwk) while I personally love this, but the infantry still lacks of firepower such as Anti Tank weapon.
anyway, good luck with that T-72 and their line. even secon hand Dutch Leo2 didn't bats an eye of ID Army since they're in worst condition.
for me, its best to take more Leo2 or just all out to K2 or perhaps more religious K2 by Turk.
ahh, I forgot this, that Stukas with their bombs and freckin 37mm cannon are scary hell to disable tanks and to keep adversaries duck down. today we can have it in air cavalry mode. You forgot about air support - no air support (respectively air-superiority) NO Blitzkrieg
I think they misplace the aircraft and missile intended to do wild weasel mission. This is actually Russia's present problem and has been since the 70's.

Without knowing the full extent of that 'leak', while I do see the the purpose of having at least one MBT division in each Indonesian major islands, it's hard to really understand why we should acquire MBTs from another country.
Umm, an AP round from that gun may be able to penetrate the top part of most of today's MBTs if it fired from the air but it won't achieve the same success from the ground level. Of course it still can cause considerable damage, but if it's truly that effective when mounted on a tank chassis, it will already been mass-produced.If this tank existed, say good bye to all soviet armor.

yeah, a Brrrtt, but in land, and marching towards you
well, its once started as a Air Defence, but rendered obsolete by the massive development by Ground to Air Missile.Umm, an AP round from that gun may be able to penetrate the top part of most of today's MBTs if it fired from the air but it won't achieve the same success from the ground level. Of course it still can cause considerable damage, but if it's truly that effective when mounted on a tank chassis, it will already been mass-produced.
I also think that MT should become priority, unless there is some cuci gudang for seken MBT, cheap but still good.Without knowing the full extent of that 'leak', while I do see the the purpose of having at least one MBT division in each Indonesian major islands, it's hard to really understand why we should acquire MBTs from another country.
Chance for another rounds of 'shopping', perhaps? /s
While we're at it, how about prioritizing to expand Pindad's production facility and finalize a contract to acquire a large number of Harimau so they can make more of it in the shortest amount of time instead? I think a 4:1 ratio of modern medium tank to MBT will be ideal for us.
Depends on what MBTs that are being 'cuci gudang-ed' of course.cuci gudang for seken MBT
Nah, from Pindad newsI just realized, why not 105 mm HP too?
Maybe because Harimau population isn't that many yet.
