You sound a bit insulted, but I have not been able to see any post from MOU with spain that would warrant such reaction.

IMO it's only natural to conduct trades with hard currency especially because you don't have to go out and try to sell bartered product to get your money.
And for us it is natural for to go for WIN-WIN agreement.
You are willing to sell your product to us then you are willing to buy product from us.
If you disagree then it will not be any problem.
Actually its not hard to sell palm oil.
Just ask any big traders who is most likely in his apartment who open a laptop and sell it on commodity market....done..the money in the account while palm oil is shipping from port klang to any of the buyers in this world.
You don't even need to sweat at all.

Hürjet specs were changed much more improved than before,especially rate of climb,sustained turn rate,and carry load

DYjBZ3.jpg

(Image from savunmasanayist.com)
2019 --> 2024
6.5G --> 6.3G sustained turn rate at 15k ft
35,000 fpm --> 48,500 fpm climb rate
1400 nmi --> 1060 nmi range
6k lb --> 7,5k lb payload
19,200 lbf --> 17,700 lbf thrust

HURRAA-28062474-1-.jpg

2022/2023 --> 2024
5.5G --> 6.3G sustained turn rate at 15k ft
39,000 fpm --> 48,500 fpm climb rate
1200 nmi --> 1060 nmi range
6k lb --> 7,5k lb payload
17,600 lbf --> 17,700 lbf thrust

It says 35m² wing area but it's obviously wrong, it is 25m² accroding to TRT in 2023

It seems like TAI focused on fighter-like performance and compromised on range trough years. Performance values are much closer to JF-17 now.

It has the same engine with FA-50 and the same thrust but it has less range, less payload capacity and less speed. Why?

hürjet range 61nmil more than FA-50,max speed is 0.1 mach less,but rate of climb difference is more important than this,very near to F 16,overall hürjet has more wing area,more agile,better suited for red aircraft role than the FA-50.

I confused miles and nautical miles.

yes but the Korean one can carry 2 tons more payload for the same thrust. that is not a mere detail.

The future variant of Hurjet, referred to as the light combat aircraft, will be subject to significant improvements in this sense, the most important of which, in my opinion, will be the payload capacity. The aircraft will continue to develop both structurally and on the avionics side for a long time. In the long marathon, I can say that the Hürjet will have at least two engine options for potential markets and will become a solution that can meet both light attack and supersonic capable advanced training needs as a common system.

As a LIFT aircraft, the Hürjet will have to enable training with real ammunition and in conditions that simulate a real combat environment. In fact, the Hürjet is a natural end-stage tactical trainer for many NATO main combat fighter jets; only with minor variant changes according to the main combat fleet structures of the user countries. For a generation, two-seat F-5s were the perfect jets for this role. The Hürjet has the potential to take over next decades.

Aren't those conjunctures. Are you saying that with EU countries as potential buyers Hürjet will have an EJ200 variant ?

What if Hürjet is developed further to be able to manage 2-6 UCAV in formation and steer them in to targets ? Would that be a realistic view. Like a megamind close by to ensure strong signal/control over the UAV.

But like it was pointed out, I think succeeding in making a trainer and LCA is/ would be solid proof of what we can do.

Europeans would prefer Russian occupation to the shame -OH SHAME!- of buying a Turkish fighter jet. Germans and the French especially. They would cut a finger or two to spite us.

The Background of HÜRJET's Journey to Spain and Misconceptions

1- The Embassy in Madrid has forwarded the memorandum of understanding signed by Haluk Görgün, President of Defense Industries, to the Spanish authorities.

2- There is no reciprocal aircraft give/receive or exchange! The A400M will not be received in exchange for the HÜRJET, this is a direct sale of aircraft.

3- This will be the first sale of jet-powered aircraft by the Republic of Turkiye to a NATO member country. It is a major milestone in the history of our defense industry.

Are most of them buying the F-35s? Everyone wants stealth nowadays which is why its safe to assume the sales for hurjet would be geared more towards south america, asia, middleeast and africa.

Hürjet is a trainer/light fighter jet. Admittedly it's one of the most suitable ones in its class for many european nations. Only real competitor is South Korean AFAIK. Others are either from rival blocs, only 3D renders or dreadful EU projects (bloated, over expensive, not roduce in numbers etc.).

I might be wrong on the competitors though that's what I just remember off the top of my head.

Hurjet will participate in the US Navy's training aircraft tender in 2028. Recently, we know that Turkish companies are building an ammunition factory in the United States and that they are going to produce a lot of ammunition. I wonder if they will give this tender to Hurjet?

No chance. Unless American MIC gets its cut, they would never go with Hurjet. And they can't milk the tender with Turkey involved. And even then we have a massive disadvantage just because of geopolitics.

Only sliver of chance is Elon and Vivek just wrecks the whole process and forces Americans to go with cost efficient options on non-critical equipment like trainer jets. And this has a real low possibility.

Short answer: No. Longer answer: Did the US ever buy any foreign aircraft in significant numbers? They even scrapped a tender and changed the rules because Airbus beat Boeing in the tanker fleet tender.

Depends on the American partner. T-45 this tender set to replace was a British aircraft in BAe Hawk. BAe partnered with Mcdonnell to offer it. Its main rival was Franco German Alpha Jet jointly offered with Lockheed*. With Sierra Nevada, a much smaller company, chances are low without even entering the geopolitics of such a sale. I don't think they would have logistical issues with the aircraft if it was chosen however. US law clearly dictate any foreign system being pretty much buildable and serviceable in the US even if it's chosen. We wouldn't realistically be able to use it as a stick.

Came across the contenders for the old VTX-TS tender where Hawk was chosen.
  • Rockwell T-2X
  • Gulfstream "Peregrine" tandem-seat derivative
  • Grumman/Beech
  • Northrop/Vought
  • General Dynamics/American Airlines (? ? ?)
  • Rockwell NA-424
  • Douglas D-7000 (with British Aerospace)
  • AerMacchi MB-339 (with Advanced Technology Systems)
  • Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet (with Lockheed California)
  • McDonnell Douglas/British Aerospace Hawk

Shame that so many of these great companies don't exist any more or have been absorbed by 2-3 companies in the industry.

the Hürjet could be transformed into a platform that can meet the combat jet needs of many small-to-medium sized air forces in the world by providing a light attack capability that can be fully equivalent to the Gripen etc.
Advantage of the Gripen is to buy it you only need to persuade one country for the engines, Ej200 is a consortium project just like the EF-2000 itself. Getting Germans to sign off on a LCA sale to say an African country is a tall order. F404 would be easier. And if we think about a local solution, 3 different engines for a single jet seems like a waste to me. If the Spaniards are interested in paying the costs to make EJ200 fit into Hürjet and all those tests, all the power to them. It would only increase our bond over the aircraft.
